KATHMANDU, NEPAL: A Nepalese man was admitted to the hospital for nearly seven days after he went through an intense surgery to remove a water glass, he inserted into his rectum. Initially, the 47-year-old claimed he accidentally inserted the object inside his rectum before admitting he did it for sexual gratification while he was drunk, according to the Journal of Nepal Medical Centre.

In a similar scenario, an 88-year-old man in France sparked a bomb scare after he arrived at the hospital with a World War I artillery shell lodged in his rectum. Bomb disposal experts arrived on the scene to alert doctors that there was a possibility the shell would explode inside the man, prompting an immediate evacuation inside the hospital. X-ray noted the item measured almost 8 inches long and more than 2 inches wide, with the man also admitting he inserted the item up his anus for sexual pleasure. However, the explosive object was removed successfully.

Doctors perform a slew of surgeries

The Nepalese man told doctors the object had been inside of him for three days and he had attempted to remove it by himself but failed. The man hadn’t had a bowel movement in two days but was able to pass wind and he had no bleeding but claimed he was in extreme pain. After an X-ray was performed, doctors tried to remove the item but were unsuccessful after they couldn't get a grasp on the glass as it was inverted. Doctors first performed an exploratory laparotomy, which is a surgery to open up the abdomen.

They tried to move the glass by “milking” or squeezing the lower intestine. “Milking was attempted to deliver the glass through the anus, but this was unsuccessful as the glass was high up, inverted, and tightly wedged,” the journal explained. “Hence sigmoid enterostomy was done and the glass was extracted.” An enterostomy is a surgical incision into an intestine, which gives doctors direct access to the glass and the surgery was successful.

Following that, the man remained in the hospital for seven days, recovering from the incident. Two months later, during a follow-up appointment, doctors said the 47-year-old was well and had fully recovered.

'It's a DIVA Cup for diarrhea'

Internet users had a field day with the incident. One user mocked, "2 girls one cup has gone too far." Another added, "Hate when that happens." A third one said, "It's a DIVA Cup for diarrhea." A fourth questioned, "How in the heck did he do that? Wow."

A fifth joked, "Well that’s looking at a a** that’s not half full." Another tweeted, "Bum pong." "He was not that thirsty after all...," a comment read. "Let me guess... he 'sat on something' or it accidentally 'slipped' in. It always the same," another person mocked.
