'You two are so unexpected': Jonathan and Drew Scott called 'hilarious' as they join Wes Anderson trend
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 'Property Brothers' are taking "main character energy" to new heights by participating in the current Wes Anderson-inspired TikTok trend. Fans have gone bonkers over the "hilarious" HGTV brothers when Jonathan Scott reposted one of their newest TikTok videos on his Instagram account.
Wes' films are so distinctive that it's difficult to imagine anybody else doing them justice. But, believe it or not, there's a new TikTok craze that captures the director's trademark aesthetic in only a few seconds. Whether you're a budding filmmaker or simply want to pay respect to the auteur, it appears that anybody can pull off the Wes Anderson TikTok fad that's sweeping the site. 'Property Brothers' Jonathan and Drew Scott, who can be seen spending their lives like characters from their favorite films in the video, are the most recent to join the bandwagon.

Scott Brothers pose in lederhosen for Wes Anderson TikTok trend
Wes' projects always have such a distinct, visually beautiful appearance to them, from the composition of each frame to the way the videos are edited. The color grading, set design, costumes, and humorous attitude all appeared unique, at least until TikToker @avawillyums shattered the illusion. On April 8, 2023, the creator shared a video in which they romanticized a dull train journey by acting like they were in one of Wes' films, and the outcome had everything you'd expect -- rapid edits, symmetrical angles, entertaining music, and wacky costumes all in 24 seconds.
The hashtag #wesandersontrend has received over 10.7 million views, and the original TikTok has received over 2.3 million likes since the video became viral.
Jonathan and Drew, who not only amuse their fans on TV but also outside of it, are frequently spotted partaking in viral trends. They've been very engaging, from roasting their other in a viral 'passing the phone' challenge to making fun of Kim Kardashian in another viral trend. The pair has now joined the Wes Anderson TikTok bandwagon. The caption read, "Moonrise Twindom π€ A short movie inspired by the world of Wes Anderson #cinematography #wesanderson."
The clip starts with the brothers in their cowboy outfits, head-to-toe while the screen reads, "You better not act like you're in a Wes Anderson film on set." The title for the feature reads, "The Property Brothers, standing by on set, featuring Drew Scott & Jonathan Scott."
The camera then pans to the brothers as they walk past a kitchen to another set with greenscreen in the backdrop, dressed in leather suspenders, round hats, and lederhosen. In the following scene, they stand face to face in the kitchen, peering deeply into one other's eyes as they rapidly turn toward the camera. In the next sequence, the brothers can be seen dancing happily as they stroll past the screen in their many outfits.
'Humor is not lacking'
After the video went viral, fans had a gala time as the brothers had a good time goofing around the sets donning amusing outfits. One fan commented, "Youβre natural π€£π©·." Another person chimed in, "Awesome!! I love the fact that you two are so unexpected. Never know what youβre going to be up to next.β€οΈβ€οΈ."
Seeing them do their little dance, a fan quipped, "Great knees! π." A fourth commentor wrote, "Hilarious."
One Instagram user commented, "ππππππ too funny π π π π€£ I love it." While praising the duo, one wrote, "You are unique humor is not lacking ππππ." However, one person had a tiny criticism about one of their outfits, "Not sure if the leiderhosen were a good ideaπ€π€π." Another said, "With shorts they look like the kid from 8.. .... sorry they look funny....."
