Drake sings ‘I Want It That Way’ at Backstreet Boys’ show, fans say ‘man just living every 90’s kid's dream’

Singing Backstreet Boys’ classic hit ‘I Want It That Way’ has been on the list of every 90’s kid but Drake got to live the dream after he performed the same with the iconic band itself in Toronto. The ‘Certified Lover Boy’ hitmaker made a surprise appearance during the group’s DNA World Tour on Saturday, July 2, and left the Internet in shock. The rap heavyweight was introduced as the “sixth member” by the legendary R&B group.
 
The Grammy-winning rapper in the Twitter video shared by Backstreet Boys can be seen hitting the high notes on the well-recognized hook of ‘I Want It That Way’. Social media users thronged to Twitter as soon as several videos of the same surfaced on the Internet over the weekend. Drake, in one of the clips, also shared his personal story as to why the Backstreet Boys hit was significant to him.

Drake croons Backstreet Boys’ 90’s classic hit

Sharing the importance of Backstreet Boys’ 90’s classic hit ‘I Want It That Way’ in his life, Drake stated, “At 13 years old, I had a bar mitzvah, and at my bar mitzvah, for the first time in my life, this girl I was in love with came up to me while one of the greatest songs in the world was playing, and she asked me if I would dance with her.”
 
The Grammy-winning rapper continued, “It was the first time I ever felt acknowledged, and it was the first time I ever felt like, you know, I had a shot at being cool." During his surprise appearance, Drake also added parts of his own 2013 banger ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’. Speaking of The Backstreet Boys' DNA World Tour, it originally began in 2019 but got pushed due to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. The iconic boy band consists of members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, and Kevin Richardson.  



 



 


‘Man just living every 90’s kids dream’

Social media users could not get enough of Drake joining the Backstreet Boys in Toronto. Speaking on the same, one user stated, “He def has a Backstreet Boys poster over his bed.” Another quipped, “Drake hit that lol dance move like it was effortless.” One user added, “Man just living every 90s kids dream.” Whereas, another posted, “I never thought i would see the backstreet boys and drake together.”
 
The next one tweeted, “This is the best and the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life.” Meanwhile, an individual added, ”Drake out here with the Backstreet Boys on stage don’t question that man.” One user concluded, “I don’t think I will EVER recover from this.
