TLC's 'Dr Pimple Popper' Season 7 Episode 6 titled, 'Hard Knot Life' featured three patients who presented with lumps on their body. Jason was a nervous wreck considering he thought there was no saving him from the lump on his head. Then there was Shawnell who resorted to editing her pictures because of the lumps on her head and finally, Jim who mentioned he had trouble breathing thanks to a cluster of lumps at the tip of his nose.

While describing his nose lump, Jim revealed that it was becoming a 'pain in his a**.' The lump on his nose was large, and because of it, he couldn't meet anyone and his self-esteem was at an all-time low. Due to these nose lumps, he was hesitant to hang out with his family members and friends in public places. Jim was very disappointed and depressed with his skin problem and Dr Sandra Lee was his last hope. Jim wanted to breathe freely and be able to move about in public without feeling awkward about his appearance and looks. Dr Lee diagnosed his condition as rhinophyma.

Rhinophyma is a skin disorder that causes the nose to become enlarged. Its symptoms include lumpy, thickened skin and broken blood vessels. The precursor is acne rosacea, which involves inflammatory breakouts of pimples. In the early stages, treatments involve medications, but in the advanced stages, it involves surgery. This is because affected tissue may obstruct the airways which has happened in the case of Jim.

As the lump was on the nose, Dr Lee was hesitant earlier to operate it, but she successfully removed the lump.  Dr Lee took out all the puss and the extra mass gathered on his nose and Jim's nose soon shrank back to its normal shape. A small piece of the extra skin that Dr Lee was removing was stuck to Jim's tongue during the surgery but that did not bother him considering he was going to get a lump-free nose.

As soon the episode ended, fans took their Twitter with their comments. A fan appreciated his beautiful nose and wrote, "It may have taken several surgeries, but it's great to see Jim's nose looking better than ever! #DrPimplePopper." Another fan tweeted, "WOW poor Jim and his nose. No offense but why do these men adjust life around these issues and let fear control them? Like he has missed so much. Oh wow he had a nice nose prior. #DrPimplePopper."
