Country music star Doug Supernaw passed away on November 13 at the age of 60 due to lung and bladder cancer. The singer was diagnosed with cancer in his lungs, lymph nodes, bones, and bladder after he sought care for a lingering cough in January 2019. Supernaw released four studio albums throughout his career. The breadth of his recording career fell between 1993 and 1999.

'Red and Rio Grande' was released in 1993 followed by 'Deep Thoughts from a Shallow Mind' in 1994. He then released 'You Still Got Me' in 1995 and 'Fadin' Renegade' in 1999. Supernaw also released two compilation albums, 1997's 'The Encore Collection', and 2017's 'Greatest Hits'. Between 1993 and 1996, he charted 11 singles on Billboard Hot Country Songs including 'I Don't Call Him Daddy', his only number-one single.

The news of his cancer was made public over Supernaw's official Facebook account which wrote, "After struggling with a prolonged cough, Doug was admitted to the hospital on January 25th, where it was determined he was suffering from Pneumonia. Additional tests found fluid on his heart and lungs which put his heart in an A-Fib condition. Additional tests also found a suspicious mass in his right lung. It was then determined that it was in Doug’s best interest that he be transferred to another Houston area hospital. It was at this hospital that his medical team confirmed several masses in his lungs, lymph nodes, bones, and bladder."

A subsequent post in October of 2020 revealed that his cancer had spread to his brain and spine and he was in hospice care. The post read, "Hello Everyone, I know it has been a long time since any real update, and for that, I appreciate your understanding. I have been hoping to not have to pass this information on to you, but, Doug's cancer has spread to the brain and spine, and he is now under hospice care. I will update as much as I am able to; until then, please keep Doug in your thoughts and prayers, as you all have been."

What is his net worth

According to sources, Supernaw's net worth was estimated to be $1 million. He made his fortune working as a professional musician after dropping out of college in 1979.
