'I really need you': Donald Trump pleads with wife Melania to support his presidential campaign after arrest in 'hush money' case
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Melania Trump has reportedly agreed to play a more active role in Donald Trump's political campaign following her appearance with him in public after his recent indictment and arrest. The sources stated that the former president of the United States had urged Melania to be by his side during his campaign.
"He told her, 'I really need you for this because we are going to be campaigning,'" a source told Page Six. "They had a major talk over the weekend, and she has agreed to be on board." Melania was not present during Trump's post-arraignment speech at Mar-a-Lago, his private club in Palm Beach, Florida. However, on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, the couple was seen together having brunch at the same resort and they were applauded by guests upon entering the room.

'She wanted just to be alone with him'
Melania had been absent from social media since her husband's arrest but she returned on Easter with a tweet wishing everyone a happy Easter accompanied by a photo of a rose. Sources claim that Donald had urged Melania to be by his side during his campaign, and her public appearance with him on Sunday seems to confirm that she has agreed to be a fixture in his campaign. An insider said, "She wanted just to be alone with him; that was her request."
'The fact it was the two of them alone was a big statement'
The source added, "The fact it was the two of them alone was a big statement. This was a statement [saying], ‘We are together, I stand by my husband.' It was two of them and they had roped off the table. I think she wanted to show support, but didn’t want to have to talk about any of this s–t."
According to another source, Tiffany Trump and her husband Michael Boulos as well as Melania's parents also joined the couple for Easter brunch at Mar-a-Lago. The source added that it was customary for the whole Trump family to be together on Easter. In the past, it has been reported that Donald has attended Easter services at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea and had Easter dinner at Mar-a-Lago with his wife Melania, their son Barron who is 17 years old, and other family members including Tiffany and Don Jr.
'Donald’s family and Melania are closer than ever'
Another source spoke about the couple after Melania’s recent public absence and said, "Donald’s family and Melania are closer than ever. She’s happy at his new emphasis on family, and family life. She has asked him to be there for Barron, and he has been, and she in turn has told him she’ll support him."
They added, "[Appearing] publicly during this [time] is critical… with regular appearances. The fact that Ivanka [Trump] and Jared [Kushner] have stepped away makes it all the more attractive for her to step up to the plate."
It is anticipated that Trump will appear in a court in Manhattan in December after pleading not guilty to the charge of falsifying business records, which involves the payment of $130,000 to porn star Stormy Daniels. The payment was allegedly made to silence Daniels about an affair before his 2016 campaign.
