Donald Trump Jr wants 'SNL' to parody Alec Baldwin's wife's 'fake Spanish accent', Internet says 'will tune in'

Donald Trump Jr took to Twitter to take a dig at actor Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, who has recently been the subject of intense trolling on social media after people questioned her ethnicity, citing her "fake Spanish accent". This led her to reveal that her original name is Hillary and that she was born in Boston, not Majorca.
"Alec Baldwin should play Alec Baldwin when SNL (Saturday Night Live) parodies his wife pretending she’s Spanish for the last few decades as opposed to the basic white girl from Mass that she actually is. It would be the first funny thing Saturday Night Live has produced in years," the president's eldest son wrote, undoubtedly alluding to Baldwin's now-famous impression of his dad on the comedy program.
In an earlier tweet, Trump Jr wrote, "They’re confused as to why anyone would spend decades lying about your place of birth and fake an accent..." citing a Daily Caller article titled, "Hilaria Baldwin Says People Are Just ‘Confused’ About Her Fake Accent, Spanish Heritage."

Trump Jr's post received a lot of mixed reactions. Some of them said that they preferred the parodies of members of the Trump family that the program did. "The SNL skits about your Daddy, Ivanka, you and Eric have been pretty epic, Junior!!" one of them wrote, while another said, "Nah I think what they do with you and your brother is spot on..." One more commented, "Idk, he nails your dad. I think that’s pretty hilarious." The next quipped, "The parody of Kim screaming 'THE BEST IS YET TO COME!' by Cecily Strong was pretty funny!" One more remarked, "Real important s**t. Now let’s focus on when your crime family is going to jail!"
However, there were those who agreed with him. "I'd watch that and it would be the first time I've watched SNL in years..." one of them wrote, while another said, "I might actually watch SNL for the first time in years if they do." A third commented, "I stopped watching years ago but I’d definitely tune in for that!" A commenter tweeted, "Wait?! SNL is still on TV?" One more remarked, "I look forward to those skits so much!"

We previously reported that on December 22, one internet user questioned Hilaria, the 36-year-old yoga instructor, by sharing links to her past interviews and citing her "fake Spanish accent". The netizen suspected Hilaria's Spanish roots, noting that she grew up in Massachusetts and went by the name Hillary when she was a student. The thread has since gone viral, driving much discussion as well as mockery.
On December 27, Hilaria replied to the tweets on Instagram saying, "A bit about me I’ve seen chatter online questioning my identity and culture. This is something I take very seriously, and for those who are asking — I’ll reiterate my story, as I’ve done many times before. I was born in Boston and grew up spending time with my family between Massachusetts and Spain. My parents and sibling live in Spain and I chose to live here, in the USA. We celebrate both cultures in our home — Alec and I are raising our children bilingual, just as I was raised. This is very important to me. I understand that my story is a little different, but it is mine, and I’m very proud of it."
