The happy couple married in 1965 and stayed together in a long, happy marriage until Don's death in 2017.

Marriages in Hollywood have a notorious reputation of breaking down at the drop of a hat. Every second day we are greeted by the news of yet another celebrity couple splitting up or divorcing. But one couple that managed to survive all the highs and lows of marriage and came out as one of the strongest couples in the industry is none other than late comedian Don Rickles and his wife Barbara Rickles.

The happy couple married in 1965 and stayed together in a long, happy marriage until Don's death in 2017. On Sunday, March 15, it would have been the couple's 56th wedding anniversary. But unfortunately, it also became the day of Barbara's death. Barbara passed away on Sunday at the age of 84, at her home in Los Angeles. Her spokesperson Paul Shefrin confirmed the news and revealed that non-Hodgkins lymphoma was the cause of her death.

Following the announcement of her passing, several fans took to their Twitter to express their condolences and declared that the happy couple has reunited once again in heaven. A fan wrote, "God bless Don and Barbra. Reunited in heaven at long last. #RIPBarbaraRickles  “Whatever you do to gain success, you have to hang in there and hope good things happen. Always think positive”. - Don Rickles.." Another fan commented, "They are together again Rest In Peace Barbara Rickles." "She took over his Twitter after he passed and I was getting those and always sent her kind & living words. I am sure they are together now with the Lord. Absent from body is presence with the Lord.. RIP Mrs. Rickles," expressed another fan. "@DonRickles TOGETHER AT LAST RIP Mrs. Rickles..," declared another fan.

Who is Mindy Rickles?

Mindy Rickles is the oldest child of Barbara and Don Rickles. The actress/ comedian was born in 1966, and is best known for her performances in 'Tales from the Crypt', and 'Daddy Dearest'. She married her husband Edward Mann in 1997, and the couple has two sons together- Harrison and Ethan Mann. She was recently featured in Jeff Garlin's theatrical release- 'Dealin With Idiots', and has performed at stand-up clubs across Los Angeles. She was also featured on episodes of 'In the Heat of the Night with Carroll O'Conner'. Just like her father, Mindy's comedy too is extensively based upon her personal life and experiences. 

Who is Larry Rickles?

Larry Rickles was born in 1970, to Barbara and Don Rickles. On an episode of 'The Tonight Show Starring John Carson the legendary comedian revealed that his son was conceived while Larry was on set in the Istrian village of Vižinada in the former Yugoslavia (now Istria, Croatia), while filming Kelly's Heroes in July 1969. Larry went on to become an acclaimed screenwriter. After finishing his writing workshop with Warner Bros, Larry was hired as a writer for the popular series 'Murphy Brown'.

In 2007, he co-produced 'Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project', an HBO documentary on his father. The documentary earned Larry an Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Special in 2008. While Don won Primetime Emmy Award for Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program for his performance in the documentary.  Unfortunately, Larry passed away in 2011, at the age of 41, due to pneumonia.
