"I'm doing the Rock 'n' Roll album because of him," she said," adding "I had often thought about doing a Rock 'n' Roll album for him with his favorite songs. And so when this all came about, I decided that I am gonna go ahead and do it. … It was just the perfect storm. OK, it's time."

Parton also shared an update over her Instagram account and captioned, "To celebrate the launch of ‘ROCKSTAR’, I am announcing a first-listen fan event in movie theaters and cinemas worldwide on November 15, with select encores on November 16! 🎸⭐️ You will hear full songs from the new album for the first time ever and see footage you’ve never seen before. The ‘My Blue Tears’ crooner, who turned 77 this January, said, "Good doctors, good lighting and good makeup" play a major part in her youthful appearance."
