Dog the Bounty Hunter claims a 'broken heart' sent him to hospital: 'It's going to heal'
Duane 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' Chapman has opened up for the first time since coming out of hospital where he was admitted on Monday after complaining of chest pain. It was initially reported that Chapman, whose wife Beth died a few months ago, had been admitted due to a heart attack but now he says it was probably due to a "broken heart."
On Wednesday, the reality TV star spoke to KDVR and shared that his chest pain has reduced ever since the incident. "It feels much better now. And I'm going through some psychological things right now too, so that doesn't help," he shared.
"I think, basically, I had a broken heart. And of course, it's going to heal," he added. Chapman had also added that it was his assistant who had taken him to a hospital in Castle Rock to receive treatment on Monday.
The reality TV star recalled how he could not breathe properly and it was as though he had run 3/4 miles.
Chapman is unsure what exactly caused the episode and has a few tests scheduled to take place on Thursday and Friday. He revealed that three of his children had come to Colorado while he recovered. Chapman rose to fame with his series 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' which aired between 2004 and 2012.
His current show 'Dog's Most Wanted' is being aired on WGN America. Chapman recently lost his wife Beth to throat cancer. She had starred alongside him in both of the series. The couple got married in 2006 and have raised 12 children together, some of whom are from their previous relationships.
It has been almost three months since Beth died and Chapman previously revealed that their children were really struggling without her. Speaking to People, he also shared that some of her children were "barely making it" ever since the death of their beloved mother.
