QUEBEC, CANADA: Streaming star xQc found himself reminiscing about his past as an 'Overwatch' competitor, sharing how he could've been one of the best players in the game. However, the fleeting moment of pride was quickly replaced by regret. Despite this, xQc's meteoric rise as one of the world's biggest streamers cannot be ignored, with an astounding 12 million followers on Twitch to date. His relentless dedication, streaming for over 20 hours daily, has propelled him to the top of the Twitch charts, securing the position of the most-watched channel on the Amazon-owned platform for several consecutive years.

Before his fame as a global streaming sensation, xQc made waves in the competitive world of 'Overwatch', leaving his mark while playing for the renowned Dallas Fuel. As xQc looks back on his gaming history, it's evident that his time as an Overwatch competitor played a crucial role in shaping his online persona. His skills, charisma, and passion for the game set him apart, attracting a devoted fanbase that followed his every move. Now, let's delve into xQc's captivating journey, from his competitive 'Overwatch' days to becoming an influential figure in the world of online entertainment.

'Sh*t, it is weird'

During his Twitch broadcast on July 30, xQc opened up about his past as a professional 'Overwatch' player. The 27-year-old star candidly admitted that his focus shifted toward streaming, but he confidently asserted that if he dedicated more time to the game, he could easily become one of the best players in the world.

“If I sat down and actually played the game and did more Overwatching, and less like streaming or whatever, I could be one of the best players out there for sure,” he said. “No doubt, no doubt.” However, something funny happened soon after this declaration. xQc tried to show off his skills using a character called Winston, and while this was supposed to be impressive, it didn't go well at all. Instead, it turned out to be a big, funny mistake as he fell off the game map and lost the game.

A little scream followed as the streamer blamed his internet for the mishap. “Alright, guys, chat, Spectrum is my worst enemy. They give me lag and sh*t, it is weird,” he said.

It’s fair to say that the Juicer definitely made the right decision by focusing on streaming in the end, with him recently signing one of the biggest streaming deals we’ve seen to date. In June, the Twitch star signed a non-exclusive deal with Kick worth up to $100 million.

xQc's Kick deal

The popular Canadian content creator's contract with Kick marked a big move in his career. The deal is reportedly worth nearly $100 million dollars and spans over two years. xQc will be joining other top Twitch streamers in making non-exclusive deals with different streaming platforms.

xQc's initial deal with Kick was valued at around $70 million. However, there are additional incentives and opportunities for him to earn even more, potentially surpassing the $100 million mark. This move marks a significant moment for Kick, an emerging streaming platform, as they have managed to secure one of Twitch's biggest names. Despite the non-exclusive nature of the deal, xQc's association with Kick will bring attention and interest to the platform, showcasing its potential as a big player in the streaming industry.
