DMX's ex-wife Tashera and his fiancée Desiree hold hands at memorial service, Internet calls them 'real women'
DMX’s loved ones honored the late rapper during a BET telecast of his homegoing on Sunday, April 25. During the emotional event, DMX’s children, his Ruff Ryders family, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, his ex-wife Tashera Simmons, fiancée Desiree Lindstrom and more took to the pulpit at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, New York.
During the event, while giving an emotional speech about DMX, Simmons also honored DMX's fiancée Lindstrom and said, "Real women do real things, I am a real woman and a woman of God, that (Lindstrom) woman is a woman of god." She further said, "And that's why I love you." After which Lindstrom came up on the stage and the two hugged and while holding hands Simmons further asked Lindstrom to be the woman "he (DMX) taught you to be".

Earl Simmons, the soulful rapper known as DMX, who had a string of No. 1 albums in the late 1990s and early 2000s but whose personal life struggles came to rivaled his lyrical prowess, died on April 9, 2021, in White Plains, NY. He was 50. His family announced the death in a statement. He had been on life support at White Plains Hospital after suffering what his family called “a catastrophic cardiac arrest".
