Did DJ Funkmaster Flex get liposuction with Wu Tang's Ice Cream playing? Internet calls it the 'wildest s**t'
The DJ underwent a liposuction procedure to 'work on the hard areas'. It was to remove the fat from 'lower stomach, armpit sides and back fat'
American DJ and New York City's Hot 97 host Funkmaster Flex has come a long way in his weight loss journey. The 52-year-old, whose original name is Aston George Taylor Jr, took to Instagram on November 30 to show his fans and followers how he got rid of the extra pounds from the tough spots. He told in the caption that he "took a step that he always wanted to try." The DJ underwent a liposuction procedure to "work on the hard areas". It was to remove the fat from "lower stomach, armpit sides and back fat."
"No anesthesia, awake the entire time! I really enjoyed it! @drtonyperkins thank u! Home now sore a little able to back at work tomorrow!" he added. He's shared a video that showed a device sucking the fat from underneath his skin and passing through a tube. Flex's caption further read, "DO YALL SEE THE FAT GOING THROUGH THE TUBE IN REAL TIME?"
What caught the attention of his fans more than the footage of the real procedure was the song that was being played in the background. Wu-Tang Clan rapper Raekwon's single 'Ice Cream' is heard throughout Flex's video. Social media users were quick to take to Twitter to react to Flex's liposuction, with many talking about his song of choice for the procedure that's left people in splits.
One such amused Twitter user shared, "Funk Flex seriously posting a video on IG of him getting lipo with WU-tang clan playing in the background." Another added, "Can somebody tell me why Wu-Tang was playing so damn loud in that Funk Flex lipo video? I wouldn’t be surprised if Flex got lipo, a tattoo, and a couple new records to spin all in the same spot." One tweeted, "Funk flex getting Lipo with Wu Tang playing in the background is the most wildest shit I seen all year"

Flex's weight loss journey began in 2015 when he put himself on a special diet which required him to give up breakfast and load up on lean proteins and vegetables. He had portioned meals once in three hours, during which he discovered his love for Shrimp.
When asked what was the reason behind his "sudden urge" the take care of himself, referring to the weight loss, he told GQ, "My mom passed away. I was eating a lot. I was depressed. My weight was up to 256. I was going through a slump. Part of my weight loss was because I missed my mom. I didn’t want to go through the holidays in a bad place."
He spoke about his 40-day-diet excitedly and said, "I loved it. I’ve been a fat bastard for like 20 years. The old me would have had home fries and a burger. Now, I’ll do vegetables. I do onions. I do greens."
