DJ Flavinha suffers first-degree burns in freak confetti cannon accident during concert
SANTA CATARINA, BRAZIL: Flavia Ribeiro, better known as DJ Flavinha, had to leave her concert stage abruptly after accidentally shooting herself in the face with a confetti cannon. She sustained first-degree burns and facial injuries at the concert that took place on Saturday, January 21 in Santa Catarina, Brazil.
However, to everyone's surprise, the courageous DJ continued to perform despite the excruciating discomfort for about 20 minutes, until she "couldn't take any more pain" and fled for the hospital. The embarrassing incident was caught on tape, and the video rapidly went viral online, receiving countless views. In the video, DJ Flavinha can be seen using the confetti cannon to get the crowd going. As her music set played in the background, Ribiero hoisted the confetti cannon and prepared to fire it over the crowd, without realizing the contraption was aimed in her direction. She is seen haphazardly running away from the stunned audience and toward backstage after piercing her face with the gas-powered cannon.

Ribiero spoke about the embarrassing episode in a video she posted for her 34K Instagram followers. "My video is rolling everywhere. There was an accident," she said towards the beginning of the video, where she is seen with bandages around her neck and multiple facial cuts.
Ribiero stated, "I ran behind the sound equipment and kept playing even with a lot of blood dripping, with a lot of pain. I threw my hair forward and I stayed there. People on my team wanted to take me out, and I didn't want to leave."
Ribiero tried her best to endure the discomfort, but after 20 minutes, she admitted she "couldn't take any more pain." She said, "I left the stage, went to the emergency room of the event and then to the hospital. Now I'm recovering and it's all right."
"I'm going to leave the video so you can see what happened, because a lot of people texted me. Thank you for the affection, people," Ribiero said before wrapping up the video. Many of Ribiero's followers left their love in the comments of the video, with one person writing, "Man, what a deliverance, imagine if that pops into your eyes. Get well soon aiiii!!"
Another follower wrote, "I was one of those who laughed at your video, without even dreaming that these were the consequences. Today I came across a woman who showed strength beyond limits. My total Respect!!!"
