Who is Jessica Fernandez? Twitch star ‘sick to stomach with guilt’ after calling man ‘feral weirdo’
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA: Jessica Fernandez, a Twitch influencer, issued an apology on Tuesday after her video about a "feral" man at the gym who she claimed was staring at her "like a piece of meat" went viral. In the video, she described the man as treating her "like a piece of flesh."
Fernandez issued the apology on TwitLonger, a Twitter extension that allows users to post tweets that are longer than the platform's standard limit of 140 characters. The California-based influencer referred to the video as "the most serious thing I have ever tweeted."

Who is Jessica Fernandez?
TikTok star Jessica is probably most well-known for her lip-sync videos and short modeling clips on the platform. She is also well known for posting videos of her travels and highlights from her live Twitch events, which have helped her reach more than 31 million likes.
In April 2019, she made her debut on the video-sharing platform TikTok with a series of short clips. The viral dancing film that she released in June garnered more than 100,000 views, which was the beginning of her rise to internet fame. In addition to this, she is well-known for going live on her Twitch account, where she streams herself playing video games like Fortnite.
Twitch influencer apologies for her rude remarks
Jessica posted a video (now deleted) on Twitter last week where she addressed about being sexualized. She wrote, “This guy kept making me extremely uncomfortable at the gym. This is why I’ll end up crying on stream. I feel so grossed out at times with the amount of sexualization I experience. Hopefully, this spreads awareness for girls who experience this type of treatment at the gym.”
Fernandez is seen working out with weights in the video, while a man in the background glances over at her a few times. “Stupid piece of f***ing sh*t behind me,” she whispers into her microphone. “I hate this. I hate when there’s weirdos. Gets me so uncomfortable. Feral, feral, feral, feral, like, f***ing feral.”
“You wanna put it on?” he asks, She replies, “You don’t have to do that, it’s OK. I got it, thank you, though..." She continued her comments on camera and said “I was completely fine until he followed me to my squat rack in the corner of the gym.”
The Aftermath
This however didn't go well with the internet and her followers made her realize that it was wrong of her to pass such demeaning comments on someone, especially when they're at no fault. Fellow fitness influencer Joey Swoll called out the streamer in a TikTok video he captioned “Women are harassed in gyms and it needs to stop, but you are not one of them. An act of kindness or a glance does not make you a victim.”
Swoll insinuates in the video that the man was merely attempting to help Fernandez because he felt she was suffering with the weight and pointed out that she was in front of him and had her camera facing him. Fernandez was pointing the camera in his direction. “First and foremost, as I’ve said before, there is a big difference between staring at somebody and simply looking or glancing at them,” said Swoll.
The Twitch influencer shared a public apology on TwitLonger which she captioned "My Gross Mistake: Addressing The Gym Video."

You have. Well done, genuinely credit to you. Be safe & five yourself time."
