'Diversity nonsense': Disney slammed over 'woke' Peter Pan movie as girls join 'Lost Boys' in Neverland
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: With the addition of girls to the iconic Lost Boys, Peter Pan has undergone a "woke" makeover. Disney has unveiled the teaser for its most recent live-action adaptation, 'Peter Pan & Wendy', although there have been some significant alterations made to the storyline since JM Barrie's original 1904 play, as per reports.
The movie stars Alexander Molony, making his debut in a feature film, as Peter Pan, with Ever Gabo Anderson as Wendy Darling. Jude Law plays Captain Hook, and is seen in the trailer asking Wendy, “Where is Peter Pan?” However, one image shows a group of kids huddling together as they announce themselves as "Lost Boys", as a little girl adds, "Every last one of us." Wendy exclaims with surprise, "But you're not all boys!" to which one replies, "So?"
The public quickly criticized the adjustment; one user took to Twitter and wrote, "New live-action 'Peter Pan' trailer shocks with major character changes: 'Diversity nonsense' Disney, you finally lost it. Lost BOYS mean just that the story doesn't say lost kids, you are losing people by the droves!"

When is movie premiering?
The film will make its digital streaming debut on Disney+ on April 28. This update to the 1953 animated picture 'Peter Pan' is the most recent in a long line of remakes and prequels, many of which were produced by Disney and aimed to modernize old movies with "woke" themes.
According to Fox News Digital, this probably contributed to the Disney firm having a difficult month financially. Disney announced major layoffs of over 7,000 employees and a loss of 2.4 million streaming service subscribers in February. This came after a run of unsuccessful movies at the box office, including 'Lightyear' and 'Strange World', both of which featured gay themes in their narratives.
