'Disgusting': Travis Kelce called out as controversial 'breeder' remarks resurface amid Taylor Swift romance

'I’m gonna find a breeder, and I’m gonna get kids so that mom can love me again,' Travis Kelce joked during a podcast in February

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Travis Kelce's previous remarks about starting a family have stirred controversy in light of his current relationship with Taylor Swift.

The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs player initially discussed his desire to have children during a February 2023 episode of the podcast 'New Heights', hosted by him and his brother Jason Kelce.

The episode gained renewed attention after a source claimed to Yahoo Entertainment that Swift and Kelce had conversations about having children within the next year.

Travis' joke about starting 'breeding' 

During the podcast episode, the Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce playfully asked his mother, Donna, which of her two sons she was "rooting for" as the Eagles and Chiefs were gearing up to face each other in the Super Bowl at the time.

The banter continued on the podcast when, after Jason Kelce playfully asked his mother once more who she was rooting for "if in a battle to the death," Donna responded with a hypothetical scenario.

She asked Jason whom he would choose to save if she and her husband, Ed Kelce, were stranded in the middle of the ocean.

Caught in a humorous yet challenging moment, Donna expressed her difficulty in picking which of her sons to root against.

In response, Jason added a lighthearted twist, jokingly stating, "Remember if you choose me, Wyatt and Elliotte grow up without a father."

Travis Kelce added a playful touch to the podcast banter and quipped, "I gotta start breeding. I’ve gotta start breeding, to all the breeders out there."

However, Jason Kelce responded with a humorous plea, saying, "Please don’t," while Donna offered advice, suggesting that Travis should wait until he finds the right person before embarking on the journey of starting a family.

However, Travis still doubled down on his plan, as he quipped: “I’m gonna find a breeder, and I’m gonna get kids so that mom can love me again". 

Travis Kelce accused of 'setting us back so much'

It seems Travis Kelce's attempt at humor didn't land well with some fans on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Criticism has emerged, with fans calling him out for what they perceive as sexist remarks, particularly the use of the term "breeders" when referring to women.

One post read, "Start breeding" oh this is just f**king disgusting and it's setting us back so much women aren't baby making machines, women are more than the man they're dating, we are more than marriage."

Another tweet read, "Well i know for DAMN SURE that s**t about “having kids within the next year” is NOT coming from taylor’s side. she’s got the eras tour booked all through next year, and she’d rather die than cancel a show. but we do know who’s been public about looking for a “BREEDER."

Someone else said, "This s**t grosses me out so much."
