Twitch streamer Jeremy Wang aka Disguised Toast revealed his losses from operating DSG and its Valorant & League of Legends team in 2023 so far. He shared a screenshot from his accountant, revealing the detailed breakdown of the monthly expenses required to maintain the organization.

Toast entered into VCT and the LCS ecosystem, an esports organization and soon faced back-to-back losses. He acknowledged that esports is going to be incredibly difficult. He also worried about the well-being of his team. To delve deeper into Toast's thoughts on this matter, let's have a look at his recent tweet.

‘I'm gonna be spending twice’

After the latest 'League of Legends' team announcement, Toast revealed that he would be losing twice the money. He tweeted, “Just got off a call with my accountant and apparently i'm gonna be spending twice as much as i expected for dsg -$1,000,000.”

In previous instances, the streamer has openly discussed his financial situation, often making remarks about the salaries of his players and esports staff during his streams. Just last week, he playfully informed his viewers that if he were to assemble a 'League of Legends' team, he would be compensating his players with a monthly payment of $5000.

‘Holy sh*t’

A user tweeted in response, “Holy shit. Appreciate the transparency, but when do you expect to turn a profit?” Another said, “I guess you just gotta produce A LOT of jerseys.” Someone else wrote, “You should just wait a couple weeks, and then buyout faze for a couple thousand max “

Disguised Toast's team losses in NA VCT Challengers

Toast recently turned to Twitter to acknowledge the ongoing struggles and consecutive losses his team has encountered in the NA VCT Challengers. In a heartfelt post, he expressed his apologies for their performance and reassured his fans that they would put in the necessary effort to improve in future challenges. He said, “Sorry to all the DSG fans for our performances recently. Esports have definitely been one of the more challenging experiences i've faced in my career. I've always been pretty confident in my content but for the first time in a long while - i have been having a lot of doubts about my decision making. Ultimately I have to approve all the decisions that are made regarding the team and its scary because i never had any competitive FPS experience and now i need to make choices over the livelihoods of these young players who are trying to make a living pursuing their aspirations.”

He continued, “Its hard because losing is bad enough as it is for them - but losing on DSG feels extra bad because there are so much attention on us coming into the league and we just haven't been able to get a win. And with each loss the pressure and stress just builds and builds on the players. They all message me after each loss apologizing for their performances and it really sucks to see them so defeated. They are each trying their best and that is all anyone can ask from someone. I do not regret getting into the space. I'm very proud of what we have done in the short time. We've been here and still am excited for the future."

“I don't know if its appropriate for a team owner like myself to talk about these hard times so publicly, but i know a lot of you started supporting DSG because of me and i really wanted to show you guys my journey into the space - its easy to be happy when one is winning, but i also think its important to show the times when one is at their lows. Everyone here will keep trying their best, and we all hope to make you all proud one day," he added.
