Gordon Ramsay was slammed by an unhappy diner at one of his London restaurants after he was served a tiny steak and oversalted chips for a whopping £23 ($30). Guillaume R left one star and a scathing review on Tripadvisor for the legendary chef's York & Albany eatery in Camden earlier this week, the Daily Mail reported. The post, titled 'Gordon is not Heston', suggested Gordon was not as great as fellow celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal as he treated his customers as a "joke"

"When one master and creates molecular cuisine the other has come up with homeopathic cuisine," the diner wrote. "Gordon isn't Heston but Gordon is Jesus. He multiples the steaks. Give him a regular-sized one portion steak in any restaurant and this is what he comes up with."

"Five slices of meat over-salted fries. £23...,' the customer added, alongside a photograph of the meal; the disgruntled customer continued. "Gordon you made a name giving advice on how to run a restaurant. Let me give you my advice. This is COVID time. Hospitality sector is in bad shape."

"Blatantly joking at your customers won't help your business," they added, before granting two stars for the "polite staff" at the establishment.

Labeled 'Steak Frites' on York & Albany's menu, the diner's meal costed £23 ($30) while several add ons were available for an additional price of £5.50 ($7). "Side dishes offered include triple cooked chips, heritage tomato salad with pickled onion, creamed potato with garlic butter, and grilled broccoli with crispy shallots," according to the British newspaper.

Last week, the 53-year-old Michelin star chef was mocked for the Full English breakfast served at his Savoy Grill restaurant after he posted a picture to explain what will be available at the London establishment from September 21. Social media users, however, did not take too kindly to the meal - which included "two eggs, one sausage, a few strips of bacon, one tomato, and one mushroom" and "cost £19."

Several critics rebuked Ramsay for the steep price, while one person shared a snap of a large traditional Full English breakfast with "six slices of bacon, three sausages, two fried eggs, and a large hash brown." But Ramsay thought the spread was a bit too much and attacked the Twitter user with his well-known "idiot sandwich" phrase, which he famously coined during a parody of Hell's Kitchen in 2015.

"That’s called a Full English Classic Heart Attack you idiot sandwich," the chef quipped in response to the snap.

In March, the celebrity chef faced intense backlash after he terminated more than 500 staff at his London restaurants amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Ramsay announced he would be temporarily closing down his restaurants to help prevent the spread of the deadly virus.

However, the move was not taken too kindly as he fired the employees without giving any prior notice and with just a month's pay as severance. At the time, Many staff members complained about how Ramsay canceled their contracts and also gave them no guarantee whether they would get their jobs back when the situation improved.
