'Reeks of AI, unfortunately': Disappointed 'Beetlejuice' fans bash 'hideous' sequel title and poster
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Gear up, 80s and 90s kids, as your favorite horror comedy film is all set to return with a sequel!
The upcoming film 'Beetlejuice 2' will be directed by Tim Burton, who first brought the iconic character to the big screen in 1988. Michael Keaton will once again reprise the titular character while several new characters will be introduced.
On Thursday, February 1, Warner Bros Pictures dropped the first official poster of Beetlejuice 2 and their official announcement also unveiled the sequel's title. The X post reads, "Dare you to say it again. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - Only in theaters September 6."

Fans react to the first poster of 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice'
The poster and the title of the 'Beetlejuice' sequel have been subjected to criticism from the fans, who pointed out a lack of creativity and similarity to fan-made posters.
An X user tweeted, "This poster is hideously bad," while someone pointed out that the poster "Reeks of AI, unfortunately."
Sharing his observation, a fan wrote, "I think it was originally fan-made; I'm pretty sure I've seen it before." He continued, "Maybe I'm wrong, but it's the buttons on the sleeves that particularly strike me as familiar. I still think I've seen it before."

When and where to watch 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice'?
While the makers have not yet dropped any details regarding the sequel's plot, the lead cast members have been announced.
Michael Keaton will be joined by Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara, Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe, Justin Theroux, Arthur Conti, and Burn Gorman in the 'Beetlejuice' sequel.
Warner Bros Pictures has announced a theatrical release for the sequel of 'Beetlejuice'. The film will be released on September 6, 2024.
There is no notable update on its OTT release yet.
