Is Diplo gay? DJ admits to having sex with men and then gives shamelessly cryptic answer
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: American DJ Diplo has shared his thoughts on his sexuality in a recent episode of Emily Ratajkowski's 'High Low' podcast. While he stated that he does not want to define his sexuality, he did mention that he is 'not not gay'. Although he admitted that he isn't 'aroused by men that much,' he did say that he's 'sure' he has received oral sex from a man before. When Ratajkowski asked if he had a specific memory of it, he responded coyly, "I've gotten a lot of blow jobs, but I don't know. I mean, getting a blow job is not that gay, I think."
Ratajkowski then referred to a private conversation they had about his sexuality, in which Diplo admitted that he is attracted to men. He said, "There's a couple guys that I'd be like, 'I could date this guy… life partner-wise.' I'm not really aroused by men that much, that I know about." Diplo also mentioned that his TikTok algorithm has been showing him videos of 'hot guys' chopping wood, possibly referring to Thoren 'Thor' Bradley. When Ratajkowski asked if that was why he knows he's not completely straight, Diplo replied, "I don't want to define that I'm gay, but I think the best answer I have is I'm not not gay."

'More of a vibe guy'
Diplo spoke about his perception of LGBTQ+ identities and his own sexuality. He described himself as 'more of a vibe guy' and not concerned about a partner's gender. He also reflected on how the perception of LGBTQ+ identities has changed throughout his life.
In 2019, Diplo responded to speculation about his sexuality via Twitter, stating that masculinity is a 'prison.' He had previously tweeted in 2016 that he was 'only half gay.'
Diplo also noted that younger men in the music scene are more fluid in their sexuality than when he was in high school. He recalled that there was always a small gay community in every school, but the acceptance of LGBTQ+ identities has grown over time.
"It's just weird how the temperature of our culture changed so much, but I thought it was never weird to be gay," Diplo said. "When everybody was coming out, like 'Doss is gay,' all these artists were gay, I felt like it wasn't crazy."
Diplo's dating history
Diplo has been in relationships with several notable figures in the American music industry. His first relationship was with MIA from 2003 to 2008, followed by an on-and-off relationship with event planner Kathryn Lockhart, with whom he has two sons. He then dated Katy Perry, Kate Hudson, and Chantel Jeffries, but these relationships were short-lived. In 2020, he had his third child with Jevon King named Pace Pentz and has been rumored to be still dating Jeffries.
