The duo recently announced a joint statement where they stated, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for the respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.” According to a close source, it was written on the wall, “Sofia and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.”

People on social media speculated about their divorce. Many blamed Columbian-native drinking habits as the reason behind the development. It is said Manganiello has recovered from alcohol addiction during his youth and Vergara’s regular indulgence with drinks forced him to distance himself for good.
A source told DailyMail, “Of course, the fact that Sofia is not sober had an impact on their marriage.” Adding, “He was warned about this when he started dating her and again before marrying her. He did not think that he was going to change her but he also didn’t think about the implications this could have on their marriage.”

Currently, Vergara is celebrating her 51st birthday with friends and shared photos on her social media account.
