Did Snoop Dogg have a pet cockroach? Rapper reveals he 'used to leave food out' for his six-legged insect 'The Gooch'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Snoop Dogg, who is well known for his sense of humor and wild antics, has recently made a hilarious revelation in an interview that can make any individual go 'high' on listening to it. The 'Drop It Like It's Hot' rapper reportedly saw a cockroach in his home and decided to keep it as a pet because he considered it hot.
The 51-year-old told Canadian journalist Nardwuar in an interview published Tuesday, July 11, that he even nicknamed his six-legged 'd**g', The Gooch. "Gooch used to live with me," Snoop recalled according to People Magazine when asked about his pet during the interview.
'I had a roach that we couldn't kill'
The rapper continued, "In my apartment, I had a roach that we couldn't kill. We tried to kill the muthaf----a when we first moved in, and he wouldn't die, so we called him 'The Gooch. He just kept getting bigger and bigger," Snoop added. "I stayed in that apartment for like about six, seven months — cuz grew to the size of about a whole dollar bill. … We used to leave food out for him and everything."
Snopp launched a pet line last year
Snopp, an avid animal lover, launched a pet line called Snoop Doggie Doggs last year, which features apparel, toys, accessories, and bowls for cats and dogs. In 2021 and 2022, 'The Next Episode' singer hosted the Puppy Bowl with his friend Martha Stewart and last year Snoop's beloved French bulldog Frank went missing in southern Los Angeles. Luckily the pup later returned home.
Snoop Dogg spoke about being a grandfather
The iconic rapper recently reflected on being a grandpa. "I am a grandfather of six, with one on the way," he said in an instalment of Audible's Words + Music series released last month. "And my grandkids are my everything because they all individually get a piece of my heart, and they're different," the father of three said. "My oldest grandson Zion told me he's the biggest star in the family. He took my Snoop Loopz box and put his own little cover on the front and made his own cereal." "And then my granddaughter CC (Journey) plays tennis and loves her papa. She sees me in the store in my little Corona ads and whatnot — [she says], 'Papa!' That s--- means the world to me for them to call me that."
