Did Simon Guobadia use ex's ring to propose to Porsha Williams? RHOA costars mock engagement

Porsha Williams of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' announced her engagement with Simon Guobadia. This has been met with shock by followers of the show and fans of Williams as well. This is because Guobadia happens to be the ex-husband of Falynn who is Williams' co-star in 'Real Housewives of Atlanta'. The announcement was made on Monday, May 10 and with it came a picture of Williams' massive ring, which she posted on Instagram to confirm the engagement. 

However, this engagement has not been met well by her cast members -- especially Nene Leakes and Marlo Hampton -- who threw some not-so-subtle shade at Williams. However, what really took netizens by surprise was the similarities between the ring that Willaims had posted on Instagram and the one that Simon Guobadia had once given to his ex-wife, Falynn.

Did ring belong to Guobadia's ex-wife?

One user on Twitter even noted the same and wrote, "That’s the same ring his ex-wife has it had." However, Williams did not wait too long to call it out and she did by replying to the tweet and said, "That’s a lie."

The ring in question, according to Page Six, appears to feature a 12 to 15-carat emerald-cut diamond. Andrew Brown, CEO of WP Diamonds was quoted as saying that the stone was set in a classic four-prong setting with a micro pavé band.

He also evaluated the cost of the ring from the picture that was posted on Instagram by Williams and said, "Assuming the diamond is a high color and clarity, like F VVS (and it looks like it could be, from the photo on Simon’s Instagram!), a ring like this would be $1-1.25 million at retail."

There were also reports of Williams hitting on her friend's ex-husband and she also addressed the same to clarify that her fiance Guobadia and her co-star Falynn had concluded their divorce in January and that she did not have any part in that decision.

She explained to her followers on social media, "For all of you that need facts, I get the optics but Simon filed for divorce from a previous marriage in January. I had nothing to do with their divorce filing. That’s between the two of them."

Speaking about Falynn, she added, "Falynn and I are not friends, and Simon’s divorce has been settled. Our relationship is a positive, loving step forward in everybody’s lives." 

Nene Leakes said, "So this the man that was on the show wit that girl!?!?! Oh s*** now i see what y'all saying! OUCH." She also added, "Reading is fundamental. I posted a comment and didn’t really read. I just saw love and relationship then posted. You have to keep it real as a friend, it looks strange but i don’t know any details."

While Williams announced that Guobadia's relationship with Falynn had ended in January, Falynn released a note about her divorce from Guobadia, her husband of two years only on April 22 on Instagram. She wrote, "After two years of marriage and 5 years of friendship, Simon and I have made the difficult decision to go our separate ways."
