Has pregnant Princess Eugenie moved back into Kensington Palace just six weeks after moving into the Windsor residence? The latest reports suggest that the princess and her husband Jack Brooksbank have vacated the house loaned by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Harry and Meghan, who previously lived in the Frogmore cottage, loaned the property to the royal couple to “start their own family.” They had said that they were “delighted” to “open up their home” to Princess Eugenie and her husband with whom she is expecting her first child.

According to reports, the couple moved into the cottage on November 23. But, a source told The Sun that the home is “empty”. "It is empty again. Why does no one want to live in Frogmore Cottage? What is wrong with the place?” read the statement. The publication has further stated that Buckingham Palace did not want to comment while the sources claimed it was a “private arrangement” between Princess Eugenie and Prince Harry.

The cottage which remains The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's home was gifted by the Queen ahead of their wedding in May 2018. The couple is said to have spent about £2.4million ($31.7 million) from the taxpayer’s money to renovate the cottage. Prince Harry, however, paid it back after stepping down from the Royal duties earlier this year.

An insider told Daily Mail, “Frogmore was kitted out to Meghan and Harry's tastes with son Archie in mind, so it is the perfect place for a couple to bring up a baby.” But, the reports surrounding Princess Eugenie’s decision to allegedly move out is making one question if they feel the cottage isn’t to the liking of their firstborn.

The move to the Windsor residence also brought the princess close to her parents who live just four miles away at Windsor Great Park and only a mile away from the Windsor Castle where the Queen is staying with Prince Philip.

It remains unknown if Princess Eugenie and husband Jack are paying to stay in the cottage. Royal expert Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie believed Eugenie is staying at cottage rent-free, reports Express UK.

Fiorito said on ‘Royally Obsessed’, “It feels weird to me because they only just paid it off,” to which Bowie added "I know but on the flip side if it is vacant, wouldn't you rather have someone looking after it? I don't think that they're paying rent which is interesting. I've seen a couple of reports of that.”

Bowie further noted, “I think where it seems logical for me, the pandemic must have thrown such a wrench into things. Especially when you're about to welcome a baby. Originally they were at Kensington Palace but I think logistically this all seems a smart decision as we all relocate during this pandemic.”

In response to Bowie, Fiorito said, “I agree and Frogmore Cottage is really big. If they are staying in one part of the house and Harry and Meghan come back from California and want to stay, I'm sure there is a wing of rooms for them.”
