LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Late ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry’s death has sent shock waves across the world as the internet mourns his death. The actor was found dead in his own home after he apparently drowned in the jacuzzi, as reported by TMZ. At 54, Perry had never been married before and did not have any children.

However, the thought of fatherhood has played on his mind before. Interviews and stories about him wanting to be married and have children have resurfaced after the news of his tragic death broke out.

Mathew Perry on ‘wanting kids’

10 months ago, the late actor and ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry appeared on the ‘Jennifer Hudson Show’, where he spoke about whether or not he still wants children.

First, Perry shed some light on how it was sometimes “painful” to rewatch ‘Friends’ because of “difficult situations” at the time but stated that he does watch it sometimes, and it is “definitely funny.”

Perry also briefly spoke about his relationship and “courtship” with Julia Roberts over a fax machine, before Jennifer Hudson asked him about, “wanting kids,” something he had mentioned in his memoir, ‘Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir’.

Perry responded, “I wouldn’t mind, you know,” when it came to the topic of children before he looked at Hudson and jokingly asked, “You busy?”

Matthew Perry admitted he was ‘afraid’

Matthew Perry spoke more about “being a husband” in an interview with People magazine that took place in 2022, where he claimed that he “looks forward to it.”

Perry admitted that he "had a tremendous amount of fear" when it came to love, but eventually got over it "through a lot of work."

He also added, “The thing that's changed about me is I have no interest in hanging out with somebody that I don't know or somebody that I'm not that into. The next person I really take seriously is somebody that I'm going to be in love with and not be scared by the things that used to scare me.”

On being a father someday, Perry had said, “I think I'd be great. I really do, I grew up with a lot of little kids around me, and that's probably why, but I can't wait.”
