Did Jeffree Star's boyfriend rob him? Internet asks if #JeffreeStarByeBills giveaway is a cover-up for scandal

YouTube stars and beauty cosmetic mogul Jeffree Star’s personal life has yet again become the hot topic of discussion on social media. Star has accused his ex-boyfriend and basketball pro Andre Marhold of allegedly “stealing” his stuff through his latest Instagram stories.

Following his split with longterm boyfriend Nathan Schwandt in January, Star started dating Marhold in August. The duo didn’t shy away from sharing the details of their relatively new relationship on their respective social media handles. Their relationship was even subjected to criticism after a few noted that Marhold was already married and his alleged wife reportedly even stated that her husband’s new boyfriend had “ruined the whole family”. However, Star hit back saying, “The person I am hanging out with has never been married. He’s not married. I didn’t steal anyone’s f**king husband.” via his earlier Instagram stories. 

However, rumors surrounding a tiff between Star and Marhold soon surfaced on the Internet after the makeup guru allegedly shared a comment under one of Marhold's Instagram posts saying, "Hey! Since you can’t answer the phone right now, can you give me all the stuff back that you stole from my house? What kind of lowlife f**king scum does that? Give it back! If you need a return label, just ask!”, according to a screengrab shared by Dexerto. The post however has been since removed from Marhold's Instagram account. 

The hearsay gathered further attention after Marhold shared a video on captioned, "Reading yall DMs & comments, hilarious." Star was quick to address the alleged accusations against her former boyfriend through his Instagram stories on September 30. Star says, "I just hopped on Twitter and there's a lot of 'Jeffree Star got robbed' this and that." He further adds, "Jeffree Star got a little played. I have been hanging out with someone. Just two adults chilling out and having s*x. But I was presented with a whole different person than who this man really was." In the video, he also reveals that about a week ago he learned startling details about "this person" and all of sudden some of his luggage went "missing". He clarifies that he wasn't robbed, but "someone stole a few things."

After the video went viral and fans started sensing an impending controversy surrounding Star's personal life, he took to Twitter to announce that he was doing a giveaway. Star tweeted, "Serious question, who needs their bills paid tonight?  Drop me your @CashApp username and use #JeffreeStarByeBills - Time to help as many as I can tonight, thank you for all the support"

#JefreeStarByeBills soon started trending on Twitter as more and more people reached out to Star for help. However, some wondered if this move was intended to cover-up the scandal. One Twitter user wrote, "#JeffreeStarByeBills Jeffree's boyfriend: Robs Jeffree Star Jeffree Star does a giveaway all of a sudden..."

Adding to the above tweet one said, "It's soooo obvious! Trying to clear his searches... it didn't work!" Meanwhile, reacting to Star's accusations of his former boyfriend stealing his stuff, one tweeted, "Not to sound heartless but is he really trying to gain sympathy also I hardly doubt his boyfriend would actually rob him. Specially given dude makes money from his career." While another added, "Why does he refer to himself in third person. I swear he thinks he’s the center of the damn universe."
