Did Brad Pitt date Geena Davis? Actress found her former co-star ‘charismatic and so incredibly talented’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Brad Pitt has been in the news lately because of the lawsuit he has filed against his former wife, Angelina Jolie. The two exes are reportedly embroiled in a legal fight regarding Miraval, a French firm that includes a vineyard and a chateau, which both of them bought together for $28.4 million in 2008.
The pair got married in 2014 and divorced two years later. However, they apparently had decided not to sell their shares of the vineyard without each other’s consent. But in 2021, Jolie allegedly broke the agreement and sold her part to Russian businessman Yuri Shefler, prompting the lawsuit against her. There was a time when the co-stars of ‘Mr & Mrs Smith’ were madly in love. But now, Pitt’s attorneys have called Jolie a “vindictive” person.
Brad Pitt’s alleged romance with Geena Davis
The 59-year-actor’s life has not been always the same. There was a time when he was known for romancing famous women apart from his movies. He even went on to marry twice, first Jennifer Anniston and then Angelina Jolie. However, years before these A-list actresses, Pitt was allegedly romantically involved with Geena Davis.
The two stars worked together in the 1991 classic, ‘Thelma & Louise’. Pitt's drifter character in the film, JD, was one of his first prominent roles. Though the duo never spoke of their apparent affair, The Hollywood Reporter referred to Jason Priestley’s book in 2014 and reported that Pitt used to go out “to visit his secret girlfriend, Geena Davis, after Thelma wrapped” since “the far more famous actress refused to visit Pitt’s frat-like West Hollywood duplex.”
While he has never dished on their speculated romance, the ‘Bullet Train’ star has spoken about his “love scene” with the 67-year-old actress in ‘Thelma & Louise’. He told W magazine, “Geena [Davis] was so sweet and kind and delicate. That love scene, I think, went on for two days of shooting. She took care of me.”
‘I was screwing up his audition’
In the same interview, Pitt also revealed he lost the role twice before getting it. He added, “They went through a couple of other actors. I didn’t get the part at first, and then it came back around and I didn’t get it again, and I went, ‘Huh. All right. Moving on.’ And then it came back around again. I feel like it was three times.”
Last year, Davis also spoke fondly about Pitt as she shared on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ that at first, four different actors were considered for JD. She said, “Each of them was very handsome. They all had brown hair and were very talented. I didn’t care who it was going to be. Then the fourth one comes in, and it’s Brad Pitt. He’s so charismatic and so incredibly talented that I was screwing up his audition.”
