MOSCOW, IDAHO: Bryan Kohberger, the suspect charged with four counts of first-degree murder and felony burglary, appeared in court for the first time on Thursday, January 5. Kohberger was arrested for killing four University of Idaho students, namely Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, on November 13. Since the barbaric murders, there has been a lot of speculation on the Internet around the circumstances of the students' deaths.

Recently, a Twitter user speculated about the person who called the police on November 13 to report an unconscious person. Was it Bethany Funke who made the call to 911 after she saw "Dylan passed out?" wondered the user. As per the police affadavits, Dylan Mortensen saw a man "with bushy eyebrows" β€” presumed to be the suspect, Bryan Kohberger, inside their home.

The user wrote, "was it Bethany who called police at noon because she was the one who found Dylan passed out from all the shock, and Bethany didn't know what happened until later." The user further added, "Let's not forget the only person at fault here is Bryan. #IdahoFour #Moscow #moscowhomicide #IdahoStudents"

However, there's no concrete confirmation about the above-provided information. There has been several such speculative statements made by web sleuths since the murders occurred. However, Moscow PD have been very cagey with information about the case so far. It is only now, after the sealed affadavits were opened in court that the public is learning about key details and the evidence collected by the police.

Who are the surviving roommates?

The four victims, who were stabbed to death, shared a residence at 1122 King Road in Moscow, Idaho, with Funke and Mortensen and were close friends with them. As per the earlier reports, Dylan Mortensen and Bethany Funke were supposedly sleeping on the first floor of the house during the killings. But the new details that have emerged in court state that Mortensen actually saw the suspect leaving the house right after the murders and was able to describe the man to the police.

New details given by Dylan Mortensen

The chilling details about the case as per the court affidavit was revealed by Mortensen to the police. According to the affidavit, Mortensen opened the door to her room to check the outside but discovered nothing. When she heard someone "crying" from Kernodle's room, she opened the door for the second time. A little while later, "a 5'10" or taller, male with an athletic physique but not much muscle and bushy eyebrows" went past Dylan. As the suspect, who was allegedly Bryan Kohberger, left the house from the sliding glass backdoor, she stood there in a "frozen shock phase," as reported by MEAWW.

According to Law&Crime, which read the case affidavit, the affidavit references a contemporaneous recording purportedly made by a "security camera" from close to the crime scene. This recording allegedly captures what investigators describe as  "distorted audio of what sounded like voices or a whimper followed by a loud thud"  and a dog "barking repeatedly" beginning at 4.17 am.

FBI team was tracking Bryan Kohberger

A FBI surveillance team followed Bryan Kohberger and his father as they traveled across the country from Washington to Pennsylvania. The FBI team instructed Indiana police to stop the father-son duo on December 15 while they were traveling back to Pennsylvania. The 28-year-old Idaho quadruple murder suspect and his father, Michael Kohberger, were detained twice on I-70 in the span of nine minutes while traveling 2,500 miles across the nation. The police specifically performed this action to take pictures and videos of Kohberger's hands to build a concrete case for making an arrest, as per reports.

On December 30, less than 2,000 miles from Moscow, Kohberger was captured at his parents' house in eastern Pennsylvania. Kohberger was in the PhD program of the Washington State University's Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology. Despite denying that he was the murderer in the case, Kohberger authorized his extradition to Idaho by signing a form. On January 5, a probable cause affidavit in the prosecution's case against suspect Bryan Kohberger, who made his initial court appearance in Idaho, was made available to the public.
