Childhood photos of 21-year-old Kaylee Goncalves, one of the four University of Idaho students brutally stabbed to death in the early morning hours of November 13, 2022, have sent Reddit users into grief with one user referring to her tragic death as "cruel fate."

The arrest of Bryan Kohberger, the 28-year-old criminology student believed responsible for the murders, brought some relief to the seven-week-long mystery. However, the grief over the deaths of the four students lives on. One Reddit user shared a series of 10 photos and wrote, "Childhood photos retrieved of Kaylee Goncalves. May her soul rest in peace 06-08-2001 - 11-13-2022." To which one of many responded by saying, "RIP, Kaylee. An adorable child. This is so heartbreaking."

"Heartbreaking is the word that comes to mind but even that seems like an understatement. I am not a parent, but I am an aunt to a niece who I love very much. I cannot, for the life of me, imagine what it would be like to lose her or to lose a child. Unfathomable. Thank you for sharing these photos," wrote one user while another comment read, "A reminder that all the victims are someone's daughter or son. May Kaylee's soul and that of her friends rest in peace because the way they left this world was not peacefully. For her family and friends may the pain somehow lessen over time while you keep her memory alive."

This comes after the internet discovered a few old tweets from Kaylee's Twitter account that read, “Sorry things didn’t work out, but really. I’m not sorry..”

Kaylee, however, didn’t elaborate on whether these were about a breakup. It was earlier reported that Kaylee's ex-boyfriend Jack DuCoeur, who she dated in 2019, had asked her to the prom. Goncalves also shared some photos on Instagram of herself and DuCoeur, whom many considered a suspect when it was revealed that Kaylee had tried to call him several times before the brutal death.
