Bella Hadid follows Selena Gomez on Instagram and then unfollows her leaving fans guessing about their feud
Bella Hadid followed Selena Gomez on Instagram on Monday and fans and media alike were excited about the model and singer finally having put their differences aside. This feud had started in 2017 when Gomez had started dating The Weeknd. At that time, Hadid had just broken up with The Weeknd and the two had been in a longterm relationship. At this time, Gomez had also ended her longterm relationship with Justin Bieber.
It seemed as if the feud between them could have ended when Gomez had taken the initiative to not only follow Hadid in 2019 but also post a compliment on Hadid's looks in one of her posts as well. She had said, "Stunning". However, Hadid ended up deleting the post without much of an explanation along with Selena's comment and this became a controversy in and of itself with fans of Gomez pointing out that Hadid had deleted the image. To this, Gomez said, "That sucks". Now that Hadid has followed Gomez on Instagram, the excitement about their feud ending was not underplayed.
However, just hours after fan pages noted that Hadid had followed Gomez, Hadid unfollowed Gomez again. Does Hadid not want to call attention to the fact that she now doesn't mind following Gomez on social media? The sign of solidarity didn't last long and the question of if the truce has been called or not has become the discussion among fans of both the model and the singer.
The Instagram page that caught Hadid following Gomez was TheSelenaRundown and the page also posted a screenshot of this. The fact that the relationship between the two women is complicated is not shocking considering Hadid had been in a relationship with The Weeknd since 2015 on and off. However, the two celebs never dated The Weeknd at the same time, so Hadid's actions were even called extreme by a few.
Gomez dated The Weeknd for 10 months and the two broke up mutually because the two were extremely busy. This was quite amiable and according to a report in Us Weekly, Gomez also claimed that she was proud of how things had ended with The Weeknd. She said, "Something that I’m really proud of is that there’s such a true friendship [between us]. I truly have never experienced anything like that in my life. We ended it as best friends, and it was genuinely about encouraging and caring [for each other], and that was pretty remarkable for me."
