With the ending of Season 1 in December 2021, fans have been waiting to hear about the series and if it will be continued by the production giant or not. Season 2 was announced by Amazon before Season 1 premiered. However, the latest reports suggest that Amazon has already renewed the sci-fi fantasy series for a third edition as well.
Is ‘The Wheel of Time’ returning for Season 3?
The amazing series based on the novels written by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson received a lot of success, so it doesn’t come as a shock that Amazon is cashing in on the success. According to a report by Deadline, the series has already been renewed for Season 3. The reports confirmed the news while examining the cast of ‘Criminal Minds’.
The report also suggests that Daniel Henney, who portrays the character of Lan Mandragoran on the show, will make a potential guest appearance in ‘Criminal Minds' “subject to his commitment to the next two seasons of the former show.” However, there is no official confirmation from Amazon as of now.
So, it seems Daniel will be playing an important role in the next two seasons to come and will join Moiraine in her journey to save the world.
The news of the show getting renewed for a third edition comes a couple of days after it was revealed that Season 2 of ‘The Wheel of Time’ won’t be returning in February 2022. But, it is not listed on Amazon’s press site and the only two big releases it shows are ‘The Boys’ (June 3) and ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ (September 2). The filming is ongoing and then post-production will also take some time.
‘The Wheel of Time’ was also the biggest series of 2021 and was 43.2 times more in demand than all the average shows in the US. The series also stars Madeleine Madden (Egwene), Josha Stradowski (Rand), Barney Harris (Matt), Zoe Robins (Nynaeve), and Marcus Rutherford (Perrin) in pivotal roles.
Season 1 of ‘The Wheel of Time’ is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
