Apparently, Haskins’ wife Kalabrya called 911 and told them she was talking to her husband minutes before the crash.
In the call, Kalabrya said, “My husband, he was stuck on the side of the highway. He had to go walk and get gas and then he said he was returning to the car on the highway.” Kalabrya also said that they were on phone and her husband told her that he will call as soon as he filled gas in his car. Soon after that, when Haskins didn’t revert back, Kalabrya started to worry and informed 911 about her husband’s location at the moment.
Meanwhile, Kalabrya announced to the public the date of her husband's memorial service earlier this week. The Allegheny Center Alliance Church will host a visitation from 9 am to 11 am on April 22, 2022, followed by a full service from 11 am to 1 pm at the same location. Various Haskins fans have sent out their condolences and many coaches, fellow players, and fans will be gathered at the place for the final rites.
NFL national reporter Brooke Pryor shared the message from Kalabrya that reads, "I want to thank everyone for their continuous outpour of kindness and love for my husband during this extremely difficult time. For those that have asked for clarity, regarding official services, there will be a public celebration of life for my husband, Dwayne Haskins. Jr. where his legacy will be honored." Along with this, she shared about the timings.
