Declan Donnelly and wife Ali Astall reveal September due date for their baby
Declan Donnelly and his wife Ali Astall walked the BAFTA red carpet and looked flawless. Ali looked stunning in a silver sequined dress that showed off her baby bump quite perfectly. Meanwhile, Dec, who was also one of the presenters for the event, wore a black tuxedo.
The soon-to-be-parents confessed that they cannot wait to welcome their little bundle of joy soon. "I just wish it would come out now, that we could fast-forward to having the baby," Ali said at the red carpet, according to Mirror. "We want to get on with it – we can’t wait." Dec also revealed that their due date is in September and could not have been more "excited". This was the first time Dec was attending an event without his pal, Ant McPartlin.
At the award show, Dec accepted the award for Best Entertainment Programme for Britain’s Got Talent without Ant by his side. While Dec has been vocal about his emotions and sadness about not having Dec by his side while hosting the award show, the actor decided to skip the winners' room interviews following their win.
Dec announced that he and wife Ali are expecting their first child with an Instagram post back in March. The actor thanked the fans for their wishes and confirmed the news. "Just wanted to say thank you for all the lovely messages," he wrote.
“The news has sneaked out a little earlier than we had hoped but Ali and I are delighted to be expecting our first child. Thanks for all the love, we really appreciate it. D x.” The couple got married in 2015 after dating for a year and had often talked about starting a family one day. A source close to the couple told The Sun, that they "are both absolutely delighted to be expecting, especially as they have been trying for some time."
"They have both always wanted a family but worried that it might not happen for them. They have been keeping the pregnancy a closely guarded secret, but now that Ali is safely over 12 weeks they are starting to let people know," the source revealed at that time.
