Spoilers for 'Debris' Season 1 Episode 1

NBC’s latest sci-fi thriller ‘Debris’ has everything that can make it one of the most amazing shows on television. However, it would have to keep a grip on viewers to make it an unforgettable ride. The pilot episode perfectly sets the tone for what can be expected in future episodes. It is filled with un-nerving sequences and has so many intriguing characters.

The most important part of the entire episode was how “debris” was found and who was the first person to know about it? We already got an answer to that in the pilot episode. Finola James, played by Riann Steele, is one of the agents who are working on the mysterious alien wreckage descending into the earth’s atmosphere. The world’s first astrophysicist to know about the debris was George Jones (Tyrone Benskin), father of Finola.

For Finola, the case is really important because George knew almost everything about the wreckage and died while working on the case. The scene where she tells about her father to Agent Bryan (Jonathan Tucker) makes us believe that Finola’s father is dead and she is on the case to give tribute to her father’s legacy. However, the episode ends with a twist that will surely blow everyone’s mind.

The mother of all twists

As the episode comes to an end and both agents are on the plane to get to their destinations, Bryan gets a phone call from his boss Craig Maddox (Norbert Leo Butz) telling him that George Jones is still alive and Craig can see him in the footage that has been taken from a surveillance camera.

However, he has taken a different identity and has entered the US with a new alias. The doctor, who now calls himself Alistair R Peck, was seen at the JFK Airport and entered the country after taking a flight from Heathrow, London.

Bryan is shocked to learn the truth about George and Craig tells him to not tell this to Finola. The secret is stuck with Bryan as he embarks on a journey to find more information about the wreckage. It will be interesting to see how Finola gets to know about his father and how would she react when she gets to know that Bryan already had a clue about it.

However, one thing that will make you scratch your head is when you find that George is now partnering with the bad guys. Is this a conspiracy? Is George Jones really alive? Or someone has taken his place through surgery.

Why George is now with the bad guys?

The motive is clearly unknown. Why would someone fake his own death to be with the bad guys? His daughter does not have an idea about it and she will be really emotional to know about his well-being.

If we talk about the intentions, George might be on to something big here. The astrophysicist has joined the bad guys in order to do something that might affect mankind in a disastrous way. It should be noted that he was the first astrophysicist to know everything about 'Debris'. He knows all the secrets and the minor details that could prove to be really important for either of the sides.

Either he joined by choice or he is being pressurized to be a part of the gang that wants to have the technology for personal gains. His involvement in the entire scenario will provide emotional depth to the series.
