Musician Debbie Harry, in a recent interview, reflected on her heroin addiction and revealed that she was raped in the 1970s in a New York apartment she shared with former boyfriend and bandmate Chris Stein. The music icon made the revelation on 'Good Morning America' on Monday while promoting her new memoir 'Face it.'

Harry, during the segment, spoke about being addicted to drugs, saying she and Stein were "junkies," and added that she knew it was "silly." She also added that despite the addiction, she did not regret any part of her life.

The 74-year-old also talked about being raped at knifepoint in an apartment in New York by a stranger who followed Harry and Stein inside the home and stole their guitars.

Although Harry had talked about her sexual assault in August, she revealed on Monday that the experience left her feeling "angry."

"I have a great friend and partner in Chris and he helped me just to sort of put it into proportion," she said. "Believe me I felt anger, frustration - I wanted revenge. I went through every logical turn of emotion that you would normally go through when you're victimized. For whatever reason my sanity took over and said you can't carry around this kind of anger and sense of frustration."

Harry recounted how the stranger tied her and Stein in their apartment and later untied her so she could remove her underwear. "He f****d me and then he said, 'Go clean yourself,'' she recalled. Harry, previously, had stated that she felt more upset about the stranger stealing their guitars than about the sexual assault.

The musician also said that she and Stein abused drugs to "survive" a "desperately horrible situation" as they were living in poverty in the grunge of downtown Manhattan. "I feel we had great times, we had horrible times. That's the story of rock n roll, isn't it?"
