'Dear Christmas': Meet Melissa Joan Hart, Jason Priestley and Nicky Whelan, the cast of Lifetime's holiday flick

To put you in the Christmas spirit and offer some light-hearted entertainment, Lifetime’s holiday movie ‘Dear Christmas’ starring Melissa Joan Hart and Joan Priestley, is preparing for its premiere on November 27. The romantic drama has an ensemble cast including Nicky Whelan, Robin Givens, Ed Begley Jr and Faith Prince. Meet them here.

Melissa Joan Hart is seen as Natalie Morgan, the host of the popular podcast ‘Holiday Love’. She began her on-screen career at the age of four by featuring in a commercial for a bathtub doll called Splashy. Her early roles in television include a small role in the 1985’s ‘Kane & Abel’, a guest-starring role in an episode of 1986’s ‘The Equalizer’ and a starring role in the Emmy Award-winning TV movie ‘Christmas Snow’. Hart is best known for playing titular characters in sitcoms such as ‘Clarissa Explains It All’, ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ and ‘Melissa & Joey’. She is also famous for featuring in films ‘God’s Not Dead 2’, ‘Nine Dead’ and ‘Drive Me Crazy’.

The ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ star Jason Priestley will be seen as the local firefighter Chris in ‘Dear Christmas’. His other best-known role besides Brandon Walsh in ‘Beverly Hill, 90210’ is as Richard “Fitz” Fitzpatrick in ‘Call Me Fitz’. He made his acting debut by guest-starring in 1987’s television series Airwolf’. He was also seen in two episodes of ‘21 Jump Street’ in 1987 and 88. He was picked to play the role of Brandon Wash on ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’. He eventually appeared in shows including ‘Love Monkey’, ‘What I Like About You’, and ‘Without a Trace’. Priestley’s film credits include ‘Away from Everywhere’, ‘Enter the Dangerous Mind’, and ‘Going the Distance’ among others. 

Nicky Whelan

Nicky Whelan plays the sister of Melissa Joan Hart’s character in the Lifetime movie. After hosting a series of shows including ‘Coxy’s Big Break’, ‘Beyond the Boundary’ and ‘Melbourne Woman’, Whelan went on to feature as Pepper Steiger in the Australian soap opera ‘Neighbors’. She was seen as the Australian medical-school student in the final season of ‘Scrubs’ in 2010. E has acted in the 2015 film ‘The Wedding Ringer’ starring Kevin Hart. Whelan’s other films include, ‘Trauma Center’, ‘Inconceivable’, ‘Tragedy Girls’, ‘Flight 7500’ and many more. 

The rest of the cast of ‘Dear Christmas’ includes Doug Hehner, Hilarie Burton, and Antwon Tanner. The movie will premiere at 8 pm ET on November 27.
