KODIAK, ALASKA: 'Deadliest Catch' has returned with Season 19 on Discovery channel. The season promises "new blood, new threats, and record-high Alaskan crab prices." The new generation of captains and experienced skippers will overcome deadly dangers, uncertainty and discomfiture in the Bering Sea.

Fans will see returning cast members and some newbies fight some never-seen-before challenges to protect their fishing grounds. However, among the newcomers is Captain Jake Anderson's captain-in-training, Sophia 'Bob' Nielsen, who lost both her parents. Read to know more about Sophia who will star in the Discovery Channel hit reality show.

Who is Sophia 'Bob' Nielsen?

Sophia hails from Kodiak, Alaska. She is a travel enthusiast and often updates her followers on her life achievements. Sophia lost her father Gary Nielson in 2013 due to heart struggles. She was just 14 years of age at the time. Moreover, Sophia also lost her mother, Annette Donvito, just a few years after losing her father. Sophia currently enjoys every small moment of her life. She has traveled to multiple places in America with her friends. Sophia also loves fishing. She started hunting fish, crabs and more when she was younger. She knows shooting and also loves tattoos.



 

Sophia 'Bob' Nielsen wants to continue her family's legacy

Sophie is set to star in 'Deadliest Catch' Season 19. She will join Captain Jake's crew as his new captain-in-training on the F/V Saga. Sophia is a third-generation fisher in her family. Her father Gary and grandfather were also been in the fishing business for a longtime. However, following the deaths of her parents, Sophie is determined to continue her family's legacy. She often takes over as captain of her family's 74-foot wooden hull vessel, the F/V Victory. 'Deadliest Catch' viewers will get to know more about Sophia with a special two-hour premiere of the Discovery show.

'Deadliest Catch' will premiere on Tuesday, April 18, at 8 pm ET/PT on Discovery Channel. You can catch the episode on the same day on Discovery+.
