Jake Anderson of the Saga has joined the race for the Opilio crab along with Josh Harris and Casey McManus of the Cornelia Marie. Both vessels have had contrasting fortunes as Anderson, who perhaps had the most epic run with Johnathan Hillstrand earlier this season, was left fuming and disappointed. And for good reason. His start was delayed by a day after his engineer, Matt, was found with a knee infection. To add to this were his relatively inexperienced greenhorns.

Things don't go as planned as the greenhorns don't have their training wheels out just yet and the rough Bering Sea gives them a heck of a welcome. In learning to be effective on deck, they use up more time just to stay safe rather than make any hauls. And in the coming episode, the skipper and his crew will be keen to get off to a start. As for the Cornelia Marie, it has been a great start as they reel in pots filled with crab. This gives them the advantage as they hold a clear lead.

The much-awaited storyline will be Sig Hansen and his Northwestern. After suffering an engine failure, the task is to get back to the harbor with the one functional engine. While this may compromise their crabbing mission, the wiser call is to save lives. With the boat bobbing in the treacherous waves, fans will be eager to know if the Northwestern makes it back in one piece. Trouble wasn't far away for Scott Campbell Junior. While they continue their good run with the cod, the greenhorns' lack of experience sees them running into trouble that sees an irked Junior swear at the drop of a hat.

For now, it does seem like Monte Colburn of the Wizard, absent in the last episode, is the only one who's doing pretty fine considering the situation. It is safe to speculate that he and skipper Wild Bill Wichrowski will be the center of attention in the next episode. For Monte, it will be all about capitalizing on the good start, while for Wichrowski, it is about making a mark after a dismal first half of the season. The question is, can they both make their start count?

'Deadliest Catch' airs on Tuesdays at 8 PM ET on Discovery.
