David Hasselhoff has tied the knot with model Hayley Roberts
David Hasselhoff has found love once again! People magazine has confirmed the news that the former 'Baywatch' star has indeed tied the knot with his fiancee of two years, model Hayley Roberts. The two are said to have wed in a private ceremony in Italy on Tuesday. The actor had his family backing him up on this joyous occasion. His daughters Taylor, 28, and Hayley, 25 were reportedly present at the ceremony and David is said to have flown them into the southern region of Puglia. The couple decided to tie the knot after dating for seven years.
According to ET, he had earlier said, "My birthday is on Tuesday and then we shoot out to the UK and a few places and then we're gonna get married, but a very small wedding with her family from Wales in Puglia, which is southern Italy. And then from there we're gonna go to the Maldives and we'll stay underwater for about two weeks." He was also sporting a ring. "This ring that I've got is really special," he said, "It's my mom and dad's and I wear it for luck and I wear it for remembrance and so I thought, you know, it's nice I don't have to go out and get another ring. I'll just keep this one."
66-year-old David Hasselhoff met 38-year-old Welsh model Hayley Roberts, for the first time in 2011 at a hotel. He was judging 'Britain's Got Talent' at the time and the filming was on in full swing. The highly successful show was in its audition phase at the time for the fifth season. He was approached by Roberts for an autograph and David agreed to give her what she asked for if she would willingly give him her number. There was no looking back for the two after that. Five years down the line, he popped the question and the two were engaged.
"We were both in tears," Hayley Roberts had told Hello! Magazine in 2016 talking about the proposal. He had asked her to marry him during a romantic beach picnic in Malibu. "I genuinely had no idea he was going to do that, I’m still overwhelmed." David had added, "I had a saying: 'You don't get married because you want to live with someone, you get married because you can't live without them. I felt that way. I knew that I was really unhappy without her. I waited to propose because I thought I was too old for her."Hayley had also said that their age gap doesn't bother her. "I don't worry about it. I don’t want to miss out on being with someone I love because of what might happen down the line."
This is the third time that the actor has tied the knot. He was previously married to Catherine Hickland and Pamela Bach.
