Canadian record producer David Foster, who has written classic hits like Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing’ and Peter Cetera’s ‘Glory of Love,’ is expecting his first child with his wife Katharine McPhee. The couple is all set to become parents for the first time, as confirmed by the People Magazine. This will be Foster’s sixth child and Katharine’s first. The 70-year-old music executive has got married a total of five times to namely BJ Cook, Rebecca Dyer, Linda Thompson, Yolanda Hadid and Katharine.

Foster currently has five kids. Allison Jones Foster was his very first child but the child's mother's identity remains unknown. He then had Amy Skylark from first marriage to singer-writer Cook and three kids Sara Foster, Erin Foster and Jordan Foster from his second marriage to Dyer. Foster, who has won 16 Grammy awards in his long career, first met Katharine in 2006 when he mentored her in the fifth season of ‘American Idol.’ She had performed Whitney Houston's ‘I Have Nothing,’ which Foster wrote. Also, she was the runner-up in the same season of the music reality show. Katherine was earlier married to Nick Cokas but got divorced in May 2014. Foster and Katharine were then romantically linked in May 2017 when the two were spotted enjoying a PDA-filled dinner in Malibu.

The first indirect confirmation of their relationship came from Foster’s daughter Erin when she posted a photo of the couple on her Instagram account in September 2017 and said she was excited about her “new stepmom.” Speaking about Foster in an interview with People Magazine, Katherine asserted, “I'm really, really fond of him, and I think he's an incredible person. I've known him since I was 21 years old, you know? He produced my first single. So he's been really good to me. People can say whatever they want.”

Then in 2018, the duo decided to make it official when they walked hand-in-hand at the Met Gala red carpet and it is also reported that the musician popped the big question to the 36-year-old singer-songwriter during their vacation in Italy in July 2018. In fact, the couple in love was even spotted leaving Beverly Hills courtroom, the site of Los Angeles’ Marriage Bureau, however, the sources had then confirmed that there was no ceremony and they were there only to get a marriage license.
