David Beckham accused of pretending to cook dinner in Christmas video as fans catch real chef in the background
David Beckham looked like he was taking credit for a beautifully bronzed turkey in his manor's kitchen in an Instagram video posted by Victoria Beckham. However, fans called him out on it on the social media platform.
In the now-deleted video, the 45-year-old football star was seen trying to carve up the bird for his family. However, the video also inadvertently captured the two chefs in the background still on-the-job as they put together the Beckham's "home-cooked" meal.
The Beckhams are used to having their meals cooked by private chefs, with Victoria Beckham admitting in the past that she is a "hopeless cook". Given how David Beckham was carving the turkey the wrong way, ignorance about culinary and cooking skills is a trait the couple probably share.
Both David and Victoria have been documenting their Christmas with their children — 20-year-old Brooklyn, 17-year-old Romeo, 14-year-old Cruz and eight-year-old Harper this year.
The family traveled to their manor in The Cotswolds during the holidays. They also have a new addition to their family — a new puppy who they have named Sage.
Chris Irving, who previously worked as a chef for the family in 2014, has spoken about cooking for the family before. He said that they hired him because they wanted to focus on home-cooked meals.
Speaking about being in charge of their kitchen as the in-house chef, he said: "They were amazing, they welcomed me into their home and had a lot of respect and time for me and the children were lovely and great."
"Beckham [told me] the reason they had a chef was to have home-cooked food, that's what he likes. I did fancy parties and soirees for them too. She [Victoria], particularly, loves them," Irving added.
The Canadian chef also spilled the beans on Victoria Beckham's diet and enviable figure. "She's incredibly healthy. She eats lots, she really does, and she works out a lot. Fresh fruit is her favorite thing... That and pea chips, you know, made from garden peas, dried pea chips and kale chips."
