Only two episodes into airing and USA Network’s ‘Dare Me’ has managed to have us on the edge of our seats with its new newfangled approach to the realm of cheerleading. While the first two episodes predominantly highlighted the various strained relationships, the latest offering ended with a cliffhanger by teasing us with yet another unusual tie.

‘Surrender At Discretion’ sees coach Colette French intentionally or unintentionally turn Addy Hanlon against Beth Cassidy. Mesmerized by her new coach’s admiration of her talent and her willingness to be vulnerable before a meer squad member, Addy agrees to help Colette keep up with her extra-marital affair under wraps, while Beth’s intentions with the video remain unclear still.

The besties who were seen bickering over their personal feelings for the new coach are brought together by the mutual passion they hold for cheerleading. Although Addy is well-aware of Beth’s hatred for her half-sister, Tacy, she encourages the ‘fetus’ to follow the ‘Top girl’s ride to passage’ by talking her into taking up the ice bath challenge.

However, Beth has more than one troubled relationship to cope with and Episode 3 reflects her emotions as she tries to dodge the bullets. While she thinks getting rid of Colette would resolve all her problems, Beth is holding tightly onto the only strand of hope, counting on the coach’s convincing words.

All along Beth’s obsession for Addy came across as puzzling, owing to her reactions to watching her main girl get close to literally anybody besides the squad captain. While the endless thread of Beth and Addy’s images on the former’s phone portrayed them as solid friends, their relationship is bound by much more than that.

‘Surrender At Discretion’ concludes by showcasing Beth and Addy indulge in some intimacy, which clearly explains their unhindered relationship of years. However, it remains to be seen if the flashbacks are only Beth’s fantasies mirroring her hidden feelings for her best friend or if there’s more to their relationship, which we might get to explore in the forthcoming episodes.
