LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dara Renee is living her dream as the budding star who played a Disney princess in the ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ is now getting ready to play a key role in 'Descendants: The Rise of Red'. The star cast comprises Brandy and Paolo Montalban, who will be portraying the iconic roles of Cinderella and Prince Charming.

Earlier, Renee revealed why she is so excited to work with her role model, Brandy Norwood, “To just share the screen with such a powerful human being who has changed so many lives for the better, including my own, I just feel so blessed and I feel so grateful.” She also added, “I'm literally going to like hum Moesha in the dressing room.” Meanwhile, Brandy shared with a media outlet, "I think that I was so just blessed and humbled to be chosen to be that vessel, to be the young girl that other black girls could see." The 44-year-old star further added, “And just girls in general, just to see that this is possible. And I was just so happy to be that person," reported People.

'It just makes my heart so happy'

"Wow! I can't believe that I was chosen to do that. And even though I had my own dreams about it, but you just never know until it happens." Notably, Renee had quite a similar outlook, when she was signed for 'Frozen' in 'HSMTMTS' season 3, "To be that person and to actually have people be like, 'Oh my gosh, you look like me. Your hair is like mine,' it just makes my heart so happy.” She said in September 2022, “To play the first televised black Elsa is wild. It's so funny, my little cousins' favorite princess is Elsa and they would always be sad because they were like, 'I'll never look like Elsa' and now that I'm Elsa, they're like, 'I can be Elsa.'"

'She's absolutely fantastic'

Renee also talked about her co-star Cantrall from 'HSMTMTS', “Kylie Cantrall is such a star and she's such a talent and such a beautiful human being, and I'm so grateful that we got this time to really bond. She's absolutely fantastic and I cannot wait for the world to see her as Red and as Dani,” reports People.
