'Dancing With The Stars' Season 28: Kel Mitchell and Witney Carson bag semi-finals' first perfect score with their emotional performance
Kel Mitchell and Witney Carson performed a Tango for their first performance and scored 27 out of 30 with all the judges settling for a 9. However, fans were not impressed as they thought that the performance deserved a perfect score.
Looks like Kel and Witney's second performance has finally bridged the gap in their score as the pair has finally scored a perfect score now. The pair decided to dance to Whitney Houston‘s “I Will Always Love You". The contemporary routine was extremely emotional for Kel as it was close to his heart.
The routine was based on gang violence and Kel has encountered various instances where he has faced this in real life. He was personally affected by it when he lost his friend due to gang violence at the age of 16. Undoubtedly, the performance had the emotion along with the dance moves which impressed the judges and the audience.
Bruno Tonioli loved the fluidity that was present in the dance routine and applauded the movements and how they were done with ease. He also added that the dance performance showcased sincerity and honesty that made the dance even better.
Carrie Ann Inaba was also taken in by the emotions that the performance evoked. She thanked Kel for putting forward his truth and story in front of the audience while adding that the dance was perfect in every sense. Meanwhile, Len Goodman gave the act a standing ovation which led other judges to do the same.
Undoubtedly, everyone knew that a perfect score was on its way. The judges finally revealed their scores and as expected, Kel and Witney had received a 10 from all the three judges which made their score 30 on 30. Adding both the scores, Kel and Witney got a total score of 57 out of 60 but would that be enough to save them from elimination?
'Dancing With The Star' airs on Mondays at 8 pm on ABC.
