Conservative radio host Dan Bongino is being lauded by his fans after he decided to give YouTube a piece of his mind following his channel's suspension on the streaming platform. YouTube penalized the podcaster for spreading Covid-19 misinformation on the platform after Bogino called masks “useless” in tackling the pandemic.

Bongino, who also happens to be a former Secret Service agent, has been removed for the time being from the YouTube Partner Program, which allowed him to monetize his content through advertising. After gathering nearly 870,000 subscribers on YouTube, Bongino has also been suspended from posting new videos on the site for a week. He faces a complete ban from the platform if he continues to further violate the company’s policies on Covid misinformation. “We removed a video for violating our policies on COVID-19 misinformation, specifically for comments that masks are useless, resulting in a first strike on the channel,” a YouTube spokesperson told The Daily Beast.

Bongino hits back at YouTube

Bongino did not take the news of his suspension lying down. Instead, he retweeted an image appearing to show him sending a YouTube representative a profanity-laced email. In it, he said that he was not surprised by the "tyrannical, free-speech hating, bulls**t, big tech s**thole" imposing penalties on his channel. He also added that he will "immediately post content questioning why masks have been totally ineffective" when he returns, closing the message by saying "respectfully kiss my ass."

His tweet went viral as more and more followers stood up for him. Rumble, which hosts Bongino's podcasts on their platform wrote: "Dan Bongino, one of the most vocal supporters of free speech and the 1st amendment was just suspended on YouTube where their CEO says free speech is a 'core value.' Freedom of expression is a human right, full stop. @dbongino & all creators, we have your back. #StandWithDan." Another noted, "#StandWithDan No one is more supportive of FREE SPEECH than @dbongino Bring it on YouTube. NOBODY CARES! Masks don’t work. Fauci lied. Adios!" A third commented, "YouTube has suspended Dan Bongino’s YouTube channel for simply questioning. Good thing he’s part of Rumble."

One more wrote, "YouTube has temporarily suspended Dan Bongino's channel because he questioned the effectiveness of masks after they've completely failed to stop the virus from spreading. It's not abt stopping 'misinformation,' it's abt stopping 'true' information that threatens their narrative." The next remarked, "Dan Bongino cancelled from YouTube. His response is awesome!" A commenter tweeted, "Dan Bongino ladies and gentlemen! This man is king of free speech who clearly, time and time again has proven to be a man of integrity and a man with a backbone, unlike the woke fools. I support Dan and his crew 100%."

This is not the first time that Bongino has been suspended from a digital platform. He was suspended from Twitter last year after posting a video that violated the platform's policies against promoting violence after January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. He vowed he'd never return to Twitter, even though he remained an active user after the suspension. Bongino's Facebook page is also one of the most popular conservative news sources on the platform.
