'American Idol': Who is Dakota Hayden? Ohio native won 2020 season of 'Shine'

It is the twentieth season of the singing reality show 'American Idol' this year. Country superstar Luke Bryan, pop princess Katy Perry and singer/songwriter Lionel Richie are judging the show for the fifth time on ABC. Prior to this, the show ran for 15 seasons on FOX from 2002 to 2016. While now the audition rounds are going on. It will soon be only a dozen artists who get to compete on the live shows scheduled to start in mid-April.

Previously on American Idol' Season 20 we have had judges give away one platinum ticket, 17-year-old crooner named Kenedi Anderson won the second one while HunterGirl won the first. This season, contestants have a shot at winning the platinum ticket. At each of the three in-person audition sites, the panel handed out three platinum tickets that allowed the holders to skip the first day of Hollywood Week. Coming back to the competition at hand on Sunday, March 13 night, more new faces take the stage to try their hand at winning fame and a berth in the next round. One among them is Dakota Hayden, a Fordsville native, who viewers will be seeing on Episode 3 of the show.

Who is Dakota Hayden?

Hayden, a 17-year-old young boy from Fordsville, Kentucky, is set to mark his appearance on the 'American Idol' Season 20 before the trio of judges.  Hayden is a student at Trinity High School. Before appearing on the stage of 'American Idol' Season 20, used to hone his talent by giving regular performances at charity events or local bars such as Bar Louie in Downtown Owensboro and sometimes he can be found on Broadway Street in Nashville. Hayden has also written some original songs that the audience may get to hear based on how far he progresses on the show. 



 

Hayden is no stranger to music competitions as he was also seen competing in the 2020 season of 'Shine.' He was the winner of the competition. It was a YouTube competition solely based on writing, music, and talent. Hayden sang an original song titled 'Already Gone' that was inspired by the loss of his grandfather. The powerful song continues to inspire many people. With his past successes and winning history, Hayden is coming on the stage hoping to win the show and the hearts of the judges. 



 

'American Idol' Season 20 airs every Sunday at 8/7c on ABC.
