‘American Idol': Luke dubs HunterGirl 'new-age Miranda Lambert', gives her first platinum ticket

The premiere episode of the ‘American Idol’ Season 20 gave high hopes to fans after a contestant named HunterGirl showed up at the auditions and quickly left the judges speechless with her powerful vocals and ability to touch high notes easily. HunterGirl, whose real name is Hunter Wolkonowski, serenaded the judges namely Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan on one of the songs of Rascal Flatts.
 
Talking about the Tennessee native Katy Perry said that her voice cuts through to which most of the social media users agreed. The pop princess added that her voice was authentic and that she was a good-hearted person referring to her work with the veterans. Luke Bryan claimed that she will make it to the top 10 of Season 20 of the singing reality show. Luke, who seemed thoroughly impressed, also added that in his five years on ‘American Idol’, HunterGirl was the best female country singer he ever heard. Luke concluded by dubbing her as “the new age Miranda Lambert.” Not only did she get the nod of all the three judges, HunterGirl also bagged the very first platinum ticket of the historic season.

HunterGirl is from Winchester, Tennessee, where she began singing at the age of three at her grandfather's church and started creating various songs when she was nine. After that Girl successfully achieves the Texaco Country Showdown when she was 15. After high school graduation, she relocated to Nashville.  While the format of the show will remain the same, a new platinum ticket has been introduced that would allow the holders to skip the first day of Hollywood Week.

Social media users quickly thronged to Twitter as soon as she crossed the first hurdle on the show.  “#Hunter is ready for radio and the best part is we haven't heard her full range yet. That is 100% better than MOST of the voices in Country Music today!”, said one user as another posted, “Congratulations to Hunter. First Platinum Ticket. Well-deserved. We need to hear more country music.” One added, “Hunter Girl is great. Glad she made it to Hollywood.”  
 
The next one stated, “Hunter deserved the platinum ticket!” One said, “Hunter Girl will be as big as Underwood....incredible.” Meanwhile, one added, “There is something so fresh, authentic, and extra special about Hunter Girl.” And, another concluded, “Hi Hunter I tweeted American Idol 2 tell them that you were a superstar I am an instant fan and u are truly an instant superstar much love and success I know you’re going to the top listen to this record called ain’t no stopping us now becuz Hunter is on the move.”
