Jonathan Kirk aka rapper DaBaby can't seem to stop getting into trouble with the police, can he? The 'Suge' singer was in Miami this week when he was detained by the police and later released in connection with a robbery investigation.

Viral video footage of the hip-hop star in Miami police custody has been doing the rounds on social media for the past few hours.

A short video filmed by a bystander around 12.30 pm on Thursday, January 2, afternoon shows DaBaby in handcuffs being escorted to a patrol car by Miami police. It started spreading like wildfire on social media.

The person recording the incident announced that they were "arresting DaBaby". It is known that the 'Kirk' rapper had already been in Miami for a few days since he was posting photos that showed him having fun in the city with his buddies on his Instagram.

DaBaby's fellow label artiste Rich Dunk (of Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment) can also be seen walking behind DaBaby as he appears to be documenting the incident on his phone, possibly for future legal reference.

Seven cop cars were on the scene when DaBaby was taken into custody. Full details of the investigation will be released by the Miami police later, according to their latest statement that was posted on Twitter. They also clarified that DaBaby had not been arrested in the announcement.

"Good evening. I can confirm that Jonathan Lyndale Kirk (DaBaby) has been detained and taken to headquarters for questioning reference (sic) an earlier incident involving a robbery."

"Because it is an open and ongoing investigation, I cannot confirm his involvement in the case, but I can confirm he is currently being questioned by robbery detectives," the statement continued.

It added, "Thus far, he is being questioned and has NOT been arrested. Upon request, if and when updates regarding the case becomes available, they will be furnished via email at the resume of regular business hours, tomorrow, 8 am (EST)."

DaBaby had previously got into trouble with police in his home state of North Carolina for marijuana possession, after performing at the Bojangles' Coliseum.

Similar to the reported incident in Miami, the 2019 XXL Freshman star had been handcuffed, cited and later released on that occasion as well. His fans will be glad to know that he is currently not behind bars, but more details on this ongoing investigation in Miami are awaited.
