Cynthia Nixon talks about Kim Cattrall's possible return to ‘And Just Like That': 'There’s a 'very, very small'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cynthia Nixon just answered a curious fan question on Kim Cattrall’s involvement in the ‘And Just Like That…’ latest installment. During the ‘Watch What Happens Live’ show on Thursday, June 29, host Andy Cohen read the question of a fan, about what she thinks of the ‘About My Father’ actress’ role in the show and whether will she be playing a bigger part. “I think very, very small. It was a cameo, and I think it was a special treat for the 25th anniversary,” she responded.
Cattrall did a cameo, playing her beloved character Samantha Jones for season 2 of ‘And Just Like That…’ Nixon added that it was just a ‘sweet surprise’ for all the fans of the show. “We tried so hard to keep it quiet. We're really sorry it got out," the ‘Sex and the City’ alum said before adding, “It would have been such a fun thing as you’re watching the episode and she just popped up." MAX had already confirmed Cattrall’s cameo on the second season, and the star herself wrote on her Instagram, “Happy Pride 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🌈…..” while sharing a new article on her participation. The show features Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kristin Davis, as per People.

'It's very hard to talk about the situation'
Cattrall never intended to be part of future SATC stories amid some public tension between Parker and Cattrall. “The series is basically the third movie. That’s how creative it was. I was never asked to be part of the reboot. I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did — on social media,” she told the outlet last year.
Parker recently addressed her rift with Cattrall in an interview. “It's very hard to talk about the situation. I've been so careful about not ever wanting to say anything that is unpleasant. The 58-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast, “Because it's not the way I like to conduct conversations that are as complicated as this, you know?"
"It's so painful for people to keep talking about this 'catfight' — a fight, a fight, a fight. I've never uttered fighting words in my life about anybody that I've worked with ever."
'We're all thrilled'
Series creator Michael Patrick King told Variety last year, "It's all so new right now. One of my big rules is don't tell things until they're real."
He added, "My goal is to bring all the characters into the mix together so that they're not so much on separate runways. I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters — played by these powerful, amazing actors. The fact is, we're all thrilled. And Just like That… our sex life is back."
